📣 Tournament Update: Day-of Logistics

Important info

Location: The King's Academy, 562 N Britton Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94085

Time: 9am-12:30pm

Check-in opens: 8:45am

What to bring: pencils/pens, eraser, water bottle

What NOT to bring: calculator/other aids. See the rules and scoring doc for more details.

Arrival and Parking

We ask that everyone enter through the TKA Elementary School entrance on Duane Avenue and park at the Back Parking Lot. The front parking lot will not be open the day of the tournament. We’ll be using three main spaces for the tournament: the Gym, the W, and the Theater.

Competitors, please aim to arrive around 8:45am so there is ample time for you to find your teammates and get necessary materials from your coach/adult supervisor.

What do I do when I arrive?

Competitors—when you arrive, find your school’s meeting point in our Main Quad. Only coaches/adult supervisors should head to check-in.

Check-in (for coaches/adult supervisors only)

Check-in opens at 8:45 am in the W building.

Once all competitors are present, the coach/adult supervisor for each school will head to the W Building to check competitors in and pick up a check-in packet including competitor name tags and a tournament program.

Entering the Gym

Competitors, please stay in the quad at your school’s meeting point until we make an announcement to head to the Gym. When you enter the Gym, stay with your team members and sit at your team’s designated table—tables are assigned and will be communicated to your school’s coach/adult supervisor through their coach packet. The tables should also have your team members’ names on them, though it is best to know which table you are heading to before you enter the Gym.

Parent Activities

8:45 Refreshments: We will be having refreshments for all parents and coaches in the W Building from check-in time to the panel discussion. Keep note that competitors are not allowed in the W building. The W Building will not be open after 9:40am.

UPDATE: This event has been cancelled. The Panel Discussion will begin as usual at 9:45.

9:15 Parent Workshop: All parents and coaches are invited to this event in the Theater. Join former TKA math team coach Jasmine Doan as she shares lessons from her math competition journey and practical ways parents can help their children cultivate a genuine love for learning amid academic pressure in the Bay Area.

9:45 Panel Discussion: Afterwards, we hope you can join us at 9:45 am in the Theater for this year’s panel discussion. We’re excited that three special guests will join us to speak on the role of technology in math education during the competition. All coaches, teachers, and parents are invited to listen to the discussion while the tournament is taking place.

TKA Math Tournament T-shirts!

2026 TKAMT T-shirts will be for sale at the tournament $15 each, for both reserved shirts and shirts bought on the day of. If you've reserved a shirt, please head to the T-shirt sale booth to pay for and pick up your shirt. If you haven't reserved one but want to purchase one, you can do so at the booth as well!

What if I have questions during the tournament?

If you have any questions or emergencies at any time during the tournament, please locate a tournament staff member or volunteer wearing a blue beanie.
