Privacy Policy
Tiny Shelter ("the App", "we", "us", "our") is a simulation game developed by an independent developer. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use it on your iOS device.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
Tiny Shelter does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) to our servers. The App is designed to function as a fully offline simulation game.
Specifically, we do NOT collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address
- Your precise location or GPS coordinates
- Your contacts, calendar entries, or messages
- Your photo library content (see Section 2 for the limited exception)
- Your device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV)
- Any usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry tied to your identity
- Any biometric data
2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The following information is stored only on your device using iOS local storage (UserDefaults / local files) and is never transmitted off the device:
- Your in-game progress: animals you have helped, shelter level, achievements, statistics, and configuration preferences (sound, haptics).
- Optional administrator avatar: if you choose to select a photo from your photo library to use as your in-game administrator avatar, that image is stored locally in the App's sandbox only. It is not uploaded anywhere.
You may delete all locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the App.
3. Permissions the App May Request
- Photo Library (read): only requested when you tap "Choose Photo" for the administrator avatar in Settings. We do not scan, upload, or analyze your library.
- Notifications: only if you opt in, used to remind you about animals waiting for care. Notifications are scheduled locally on the device; we do not push from a server.
You can revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings → Tiny Shelter.
4. Third-Party Services
The App does not include any third-party advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or tracking SDKs. The App does not use cookies or tracking technologies.
The App may load reference content (the in-app Animal Encyclopedia) from a content delivery endpoint controlled by us. This request transmits no personally identifiable information and no device identifiers.
5. Children's Privacy
The App is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The App complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by not collecting personal information.
6. Your Rights Under GDPR and CCPA
Because we do not collect personally identifiable information, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete from our servers.
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or California:
- Right to access: Not applicable, as no data is stored about you on our side.
- Right to deletion: You may delete all local data by uninstalling the App.
- Right to portability: Not applicable.
- Right to opt out of sale: We do not sell or share any personal information.
7. Data Retention
We retain no data on our side. Local data on your device is retained for as long as the App is installed.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Tiny Shelter ("the App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. License Grant
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on iOS devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with the App Store Terms of Service and these Terms.
2. Description of the App
Tiny Shelter is a fictional simulation game. The animals, characters, "shelters", and "virtual families" within the App are entirely fictional. The App does NOT facilitate real-world animal adoption, fostering, or rescue. No real animals are involved in any way.
If you are interested in adopting or supporting real animals, please contact a licensed animal welfare organization in your area.
3. Restrictions
You may not, and may not allow any third party to:
- Copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except as expressly permitted by law.
- Distribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise transfer the App or any portion of it.
- Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notice in the App.
- Use the App in any way that violates applicable law or these Terms.
- Use the App to develop a competing product.
4. Intellectual Property
All rights, title, and interest in and to the App (including all text, graphics, mini-games, art assets, source code, and other content) are owned by the developer or its licensors. These Terms grant you no rights to trademarks, logos, or service marks of the developer.
5. User-Provided Content
If you choose to set an optional administrator avatar by selecting a photo from your device, that photo remains entirely on your device. You retain all rights to your own photos. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to any image you select.
6. In-App Purchases
The App may offer optional in-app purchases. All purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. All sales are final, except where required by law. Refund requests must be directed to Apple.
7. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components. Use of the App is at your sole risk.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ANY AND ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR USD $10, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
9. Termination
These Terms remain in effect until terminated by either party. You may terminate them by uninstalling the App. We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, the license granted in Section 1 ends.
10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is located, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction at the developer's place of business.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Updates will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
