I am a  Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Economics at Birkbeck, University of London and a Senior Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science. I received my Ph.D.  from Columbia University.

I use formal theory and quantitative methods to study the political economy of institutions and development. My research focuses on political selection, intrinsic motivation and authoritarian politics.
