Ting-An Chang was born in Taichung, Taiwan, in 1989. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from the National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, Taiwan, in 2012 and 2014, respectively. Ph.D. degree in computer and communication engineering from National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan, in 2018. In 2019, He worked as an algorithm development engineer at the Electronic and Optoelectronic System Research Laboratories of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). His work included computer vision and robotics. In the computer vision field, 2D/3D conversion technology is used for golf head flaw detection; in the robotics field, the complementary characteristics of the depth camera, fisheye camera, and IMU are used to calculate camera pose and scene features, and the algorithm for SLAM technology is developed. Then, in 2021, He has the honor to work as a data scientist in the Artificial Intelligence Center of China Medical University Hospital (CMUH). His work included algorithm development for machine learning and deep learning. In the machine learning field, the XGBoost model is used to establish a detection system for sepsis and bacteremia; in the deep learning field, the meta-transfer learning model is used to establish an automatic speech recognition system for nursing handover. Since 2023, he joins the National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (NYUST), where he is now an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering. His current research involves computer vision, naked-eye 3D stereo display technology, machine/ deep learning, and simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM).
