Time for Slime is a puzzle-platforming adventure game in the style of a 2D Horizontal side-scroller. In this type of game, the player must solve different puzzles of increasing difficulty using their morphing ability. New mechanics are introduced to the game as the player progresses, increasing the puzzle complexity and keeping the gameplay fresh and exciting.
Gooby is the protagonist of the story. As the player, you dictate his actions and movements. He is the character going on adventures, defeating monsters, and solving problems.
Gooby is able to morph into any mob he kills. After defeating the mob, their DNA drops. If Gooby has enough slime, this DNA can be used to transform.
Gooler is a prisoner in the sewers and claims to have the power to transform into different creatures and objects. He looks as if he has been locked down here for many years.
Gooler is a non-playable character that the player meets at the start of the game. He is the one who teaches the player how to transform into other creatures in the game.
The Sewer Rat is the first enemy the player must face when exploring The Sewers.
Rats are small enemies that are easy to defeat, so they mainly serve as a source of slime for more experienced players. But be cautious! Rats have a scratch attack that can deal lots of damage if they attack in numbers.
The Swamp Snake is the signature creature of the Swamp Region. They have the ability to shoot poison and wriggle through very tight spaces that even rats cannot enter.
When Gooby defeats an enemy, they will drop a DNA strand that allows Gooby to transform into them.
If the player presses E while holding a DNA strand, they will morph into the creature whose DNA it is. When morphed, Gooby will obtain all of the creature’s attributes and abilities (move speed, attacks, skills). The player can use the morph skill to complete puzzles. The player can then press Q to unmorph and return back to their original shape. Morphing costs 1 slime and unmorph costs none.

The Sewer are dark and gloomy area that is home to a species of green slime (like Gooby). The signature enemy of the sewers is the Sewer Rat, a small creature that can climb walls and enter small holes that Gooby cannot. The sewers are filled with puzzles involving doors, pistons, and morphing.
The Swamp is a more lively area than the Sewers with lush greenery outside and muddy interiors. The Swamp Snake is the signature creature of this region. The player must use its abilities to slither their way though crevices and spit poison pellets to activate switches. This area builds upon the Sewer puzzle mechanics while also adding more elements involving the snake morph.
