This Time Machine is an outdoor exploration, requiring students to work in teams and use quill and ink. One student is the cartographer (map-maker), one the diarist, one the artist, and one the Captain. There is a list of seven or so items that they have to find, map, and draw in their expedition. Their instructions come in the form of a letter from President Jefferson (below). One principal objective is to expose students to the difficulty of writing with quill while walking.
You will respond to this letter in groups of four:
