Outline

Assignment:

Describe your favorite recreational activity.

Overview

Create an outline before recording and editing their project in iMovie. A basic format for creating an outline should include a beginning, middle, and end.

Beginning

The beginning is the first thing your audience will see. You can use this opportunity to draw your audience in. Here are some examples:

  1. Create a colorful title using iMovie themes.

  2. Record yourself making an opening statement

    1. Today, I’m going to show you how I like to have fun

    2. What I do to have fun? Follow me.

    3. Bored during Covid? This is what I do to brighten my day.

Middle

The middle is the substance of what you plan to present. There are several ways to think about the middle section:

  1. Record one main scene or footage to capture what you plan to say.

  2. Divide the middle into sections:

    1. This is what I do by myself.

    2. This is what I do with friends.

    3. This is what I do with family.

End

The end can be used to summarize what you shared or it can be used as a prompt. Here are several ways to think about endings.

  1. Summarize what you like to do to have fun.

  2. Summarize and/or let people know what you plan to do in the future.

  3. Summarize and/or invite people to join you in your next activity.

Whatever you decide to do, be creative and have fun!
