Timberlane Ultimate

(TU for Short)
...is a highly competitive team sport that in the words of our club's founder, Brian Deveney, "...requires the running of soccer, has the strategy of football and physical contact about the equivalent of basketball," yet is unlike any other sport at the same time. Its fast pace, back and forth movement of passing a flying disc creates an environment of skill and competition like no other sport does. Ultimate is the fastest growing sport in the world and Timberlane is no exception to that growth.
The team is no cut but NOT no commitment. Though it is only a "club," we treat it as a varsity sport and expect the dedication of one. We practice daily unless otherwise stated from about 2:30-4:00 on the Lower Middle School Field. Signups are in February or early March, and the team starts the season practicing in the early Spring, playing games and tournaments through April and May, and participates in the State Tournament towards the end of May.
Timberlane's Ultimate team was founded in 2001 by Timberlane English Teacher Brian Deveney. After his departure from the program, students took the torch in preserving the unique team that had developed. Our current adviser is Dan Walker of Timberlane Regional Middle School, but the team is mainly run and organized by our captain(s). Currently, that is Kyle Duffy and Patrick Healey, two seniors entering their fourth year on the team. The team is growing quickly and is always looking for new recruits and prospects.

The Moxie Award is a trademark of TU. Every game or tournament, a player receives an award because of their great play or spirit.
Timberlane Ultimate's end of season banquet is the most casual, but the most fun of all the sports' banquets. We give out awards, hang out, and play the dreaded "pizza box ultimate."
