TideCast: Chart & Solunar takes your privacy very seriously. Please read the following carefully to understand our approach to privacy and how we handle information when you use our mobile application ("App").

This Privacy Policy describes what information we may collect or access when you use TideCast: Chart & Solunar, why we access it, and how it is used. We do not sell, rent, or loan any information to third parties beyond what is described in this policy. Our goal is to provide you with the best possible tide and solunar experience while being fully transparent about our data practices.

INFORMATION WE ACCESS OR COLLECT

1. Usage and Statistical Data

We use Firebase, a service provided by Google LLC, to collect and analyze usage data that helps us understand how the App is used and to improve your experience. The data collected through Firebase may include:

• Device type, model, and operating system version

• Application-specific device identifiers

• IP address and general network information

• App usage patterns, session duration, and feature interactions

• Crash reports and performance diagnostics

This information is collected in aggregate and is used solely to improve the quality and performance of TideCast: Chart & Solunar. Firebase operates in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. We do not use this data to personally identify you.

2. Location Information

TideCast: Chart & Solunar requests access to your device's location in order to identify and display nearby tide stations and relevant solunar data for your area. Your location is used in real time to fetch this information and is never transmitted to or stored on our servers. Location data is not retained beyond the immediate request that triggered it.

3. Device Advertising Identifier

On iOS devices, we request access to the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. This permission prompt will appear when you first launch the App, and you are free to decline it without any loss of core App functionality.

On Android devices, we may access the Android Advertising ID (AAID) in accordance with Google Play policies.

The advertising identifier is used solely in connection with RevenueCat, our subscription management platform, to help attribute and manage in-app subscription purchases. It is not used to build advertising profiles or track you across third-party apps and websites.

4. Subscription Management (RevenueCat)

TideCast: Chart & Solunar uses RevenueCat to manage and display in-app subscription offerings. When you interact with a subscription purchase, RevenueCat receives a Firebase-generated anonymous identifier to manage the subscription state for your device. No personally identifiable information is shared with RevenueCat as part of this process.

RevenueCat operates under its own Privacy Policy, which governs how it handles the data it receives. We encourage you to review RevenueCat's privacy practices at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.

5. Recently Viewed Stations

TideCast: Chart & Solunar stores a list of your recently viewed tide stations locally on your device. This information never leaves your device and is not transmitted to or stored on our servers. You can clear this data at any time by clearing the App's local storage through your device settings or uninstalling the app from your device.

NO USER ACCOUNTS OR PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION

TideCast: Chart & Solunar does not require you to register an account or provide any personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or password. We do not identify individual users from a backend or server perspective. You can use all core features of the App without providing any personal information.

HOW WE USE INFORMATION

The information described above is used strictly for the following purposes:

• To display relevant tide charts and solunar data based on your location

• To monitor App performance and diagnose technical issues via Firebase

• To manage in-app subscription status via RevenueCat

• To improve and refine the App based on aggregated usage patterns

We do not use any collected information to build advertising profiles, deliver targeted advertisements, or sell data to any third party.

SHARING OF INFORMATION

TideCast: Chart & Solunar does not rent, sell, or share any information about you with unaffiliated third parties, except in the limited circumstances described below:

1. Service Providers: We share minimal, non-identifying data with Firebase (Google LLC) and RevenueCat solely to operate the App's analytics and subscription features as described above.

2. Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our company, our users, or the public.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

TideCast: Chart & Solunar is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children under 13. Because the App accesses device-level identifiers and location data, we require that users be at least 13 years of age. If a parent or guardian believes that a child under 13 has provided information through the App, please contact us at  support@tidesforecast.com so that we may take appropriate steps.

DATA SECURITY AND RETENTION

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to safeguard the limited information processed through the App. Since TideCast: Chart & Solunar does not maintain user accounts or store personal data on our servers, the risk of a data breach affecting your personal information is minimal.

Recently viewed stations are stored only on your device. Usage and diagnostic data collected through Firebase is retained in accordance with Google's data retention policies. Subscription state data managed by RevenueCat is retained in accordance with RevenueCat's policies.

CONFIDENTIALITY

Access to any information processed in connection with TideCast: Chart & Solunar is limited to employees, contractors, and service providers who require it to fulfill their responsibilities in operating and improving the App. We maintain appropriate technical and procedural safeguards to protect against unauthorized access or disclosure.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. Any changes will be posted within the App or on our website. Your continued use of TideCast: Chart & Solunar after such changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
