While they were still on call, Anna then exclaimed, ‘We’ve arrived at our destination, Willa. Get out of the car.’ Jennifer said, ‘I’ll call you back,’ and then hung up. Willa was confused as to why they were at the site of the Fairlake High School’s football field. Anna then said, ‘I know that this sounds crazy, but I left something here earlier following the football game. I came to get it, I’ll be right back.’
Back at the dance, Noemi then pulled out the note from the car trunk. She said, ‘Dom, pull the note from this morning out again.’ Dominic then pulled the note out and they read the notes again to see if they recognized anything other than the handwriting. Dominic then recognized the handwriting from another place. ‘Holy shit, Willa’s in trouble!’ Jennifer then asked, ‘Why? What’s wrong?’ Dominic replied, ‘I just now realized who has that exact same handwriting. It’s Anna! She’s been Z this whole time!!’ Jennifer’s heart sank deeper into her chest, and bolted for the car. The others immediately followed her and they came to the parking lot and stopped at the cars. ‘Noemi, can you track Anna’s phone?’ Noemi pulled her phone out and brought up her person-tracking app. ‘They’re at the high school football field.’ Then the group drove off to retrieve Willa and confront Anna about what she had done to them for weeks on end.
Back at the football field, Willa called out to Anna to see if she was okay. Anna replied back that she was, and that she found whatever she had left. As Anna left the bleachers, she walked over to Willa and pulled out a knife. ‘What are you doing?’ asked Willa. Anna replied, ‘I’ve been thinking about this night for a long, long time, Willa. All of the times I’ve been ostracized by you and the others.’ Willa immediately came to the realization that the others had just made on the other side of town, Anna was Z.
‘Then why all the messages?!? We almost died in the cabin!’ Willa screamed out. ‘Because I wanted to have fun, and creating this game was the first time in my life where I got to do what I wanted,’ replied Anna. ‘Then why did Em and Melisa have to die in the process?’ asked Willa. Anna replied back, ‘Em was for reasons that you don’t have to know, and Melisa was just collateral. No biggie.’ ‘No biggie? No biggie?!? YOU KILLED PEOPLE ANNA!!!’ Willa screamed back. Anna was enjoying Willa’s terrified responses, and finally said, ‘Em died because she was having the life I wanted. I rarely had anything good happen in my life because your mom ruined everything!’ Willa was stunned, and replied back, ‘How did my mom ruin your life?!’ Anna waited a couple moments and was about to speak when the others finally got to the field.
‘Anna, step away from her, you bastard!’ exclaimed Max. Willa then asked Anna again, ‘How did my mom ruin your life?’ Anna replied to her, ‘My dad and your mom had an affair before you were born, and I was the result of it.’ Everyone was stunned, especially Willa, who responded back, ‘You’re my sister?!? No one told me a damn thing about that! I’ve always treated you like a friend!’ Anna replied back, ‘A friend? You’ve basically cockblocked me every single time we’ve gotten to interact.’
Anna then regailed about the way she killed Em, saying, ‘Em was such a bitch to me, and always was the prettiest girl in town. She had everything, yet I had nothing. I took this very knife, and stabbed the shit out of her; and yet, I had fun doing it. She deserved everything that I did to her, and that crown looked great around her neck instead of on top of her head.’ Willa then lunged at Anna and began to tackle her. ‘LET GO OF THE KNIFE BITCH!’ screamed Willa. ‘GET OFF OF ME, YOU ASSHOLE!’ Anna screamed back. The half-sisters wrestled for nearly a minute; then all of a sudden, the wrestling stopped. Willa rolled off of Anna, and got up. Anna was lying on the ground, now bleeding with the knife in her abdomen.
The group was stunned, but Jennifer still called 911 to let them know of what had happened, and that there was a suspect lead in the deaths of Em Wyckstrom and Melisa Park. The next thing they knew, Anna got up, pulled the knife out of her abdomen, and lunged at her half-sister. Willa then grabbed Anna’s arms and wrapped them around her back, and said, ‘This is what you’re getting Anna. You’ve lost everything now. You’re going to jail.’
Anna Hoboken, the 21 year old friend of the group was now their sworn enemy, and was about to be arrested for murder. The police arrived and handcuffed her, and took her to the hospital to be checked out before going into lockup. The group was relieved that the game was now over, and that Anna was their prime suspect all along. Jonah then said, ‘Who would’ve thought that she was Z all along, let alone your half-sister.’ Willa replied, ‘My mom has some more explaining to do when we finally get home.’ The group then followed the police cars to the hospital to talk with the psychologist.
Upon arrival at the hospital, the group was whisked away to another room where the psychologist was waiting for them. Willa then asked, ‘What is going to happen to her?’ The psychologist answered her saying, ‘Anna has undergone some sort of mental break within the past two months, and part of it has been caused by this game of cat and mouse that she’s been playing with you all. It’s some sort of personality disorder that we can’t fully hone in on. She is going to be going to the mental hospital on the outskirts of town for a long time, where she can’t interact with you at all.’
As the group continued to talk with the psychologist, Anna sat in her hospital room, giggling to herself that she won the game. A hoodied figure then walked into the room, and Anna then exclaimed, ‘Oh good, you’ve come to finish what I started. Keep up the good work while I’m gone, they won’t know what will happen to them.’ Then the hoodied figure walked away out of the room, and into the darkness of the hospital hallway. Anna kept giggling to herself as the figure walked away.
The group finally went home to the barn instead of finishing at the dance, just to regroup and calm down from such a wild ride of a night. Jonah then said, ‘Let’s order some food instead of going back to the dance. I’m whooped.’ The others agreed, and Willa went off to the other side of the room. Dominic and Noemi followed her and the three friends began to talk. ‘Willa, you couldn’t have known that she was your half-sister. Maybe she was lying and it happened after your dad died that the affair happened,’ said Dominic. Willa replied, ‘If I’d have known sooner, I wouldn’t have treated her like she was a nobody.’ Willa then started tearing up, and Noemi hugged her and said, ‘If you need someone to talk to about everything going on, maybe now’s the time to speak to your therapist again.’ Willa agreed, and the three friends rejoined the others.
Carston then made a toast when the food arrived, and the group just enjoyed their company. Outside the barn, a figure in a red hoodie was watching through the windows, and giggled to themselves. They walked away into the woods, now to finish the game that Anna had started.
As the group finished their dinner and left the barn, Dominic and Willa walked inside the house, and saw Felicity sitting in the living room, watching the local news about Anna’s arrest and the case being closed on Em Wyckstrom’s disappearance and death. The two friends confronted Felicity. ‘Mom, why’d you keep Anna a secret from me?’ Felicity was taken aback, and then said, ‘I didn’t say anything because it happened right before your dad and I got together.’ The trio then stared at each other until the tension finally broke.
