On the second occasion that Sweden has hosted the contest, New Zealand came out victorious with 318 points.

Malmö beat out Gothenburg, Jönköping, Linköping, Sandviken, and Stockholm to host TiBB Music Festival's sweet sixteen.

Captivate – We Are One

Like in the 13th and 15th editions, We Are One would be used as the sub-slogan, as a new permanent slogan would be used in conjunction with a new standardised graphics package from the next edition.

This edition, Captivate was the theme, with the theme art being the same as the 13th and 14th editions.

Behold Gina Dirawi

Swedish television host, singer-songwriter, author, comedian, radio personality, and actress Gina Dirawi was announced as presenter of the 16th edition on 18 January 2025.

She has not hosted the contest before. However, she was the Swedish spokesperson in the thirteenth edition.

Hallå Malmö!

The TBU Reference Group on 18 January 2025 revealed that Malmö Arena would become the newest home of the contest. Combined with the arena's location, stunning landscapes around the city, and its proximity to multiple countries, Malmö was the prime choice for Sweden's second go round hosting. On 15, 20, 22 and 28 February, it will be the latest city to play host to the TiBB Music Festival.
