Tiago de Abreu Pinto
Tiago de Abreu Pinto (Brasil, Salvador de Bahia, 1984) is an independent curator and writer (Phd Art History, Complutense University, Madrid - thesis on Philippe Thomas • les ready-made appartiennent à tout le monde®: the paracuratorial through other voices).
He has participated in Contemporary Curatorial Practice ICI, New York; International Curator Course Gwangju Biennale in South Korea (awarded with scholarship); Curatorial Residency RU, New York. Awarded with Spanish prize ‘Se Busca Comisario’ of the Madrid Community (Spanish Government).
In 2020, wrote narrative texts such as for the solo shows of Sreshta Rit Premnath at the Contemporary Art Gallery of Vancouver and Marcius Galán at Luisa Strina gallery. He has also curated projects such as The total scab-free solidarity at A Tale of a Tub in Rotterdam, Meridional Contrast at Manifesta 13, and the section Opening at ARCOMadrid.
Recently, he is curating the metaphysical triennial Ao ar, livre/Al aire, libre that occured in May, August and September 2020 mostly physically and diluted in the Chilean, Brazilian and Mexican territories that will culminate in a novel with the oral stories of nearly 300 latin-american artists.
