Three of Spades ("the App") is a multiplayer trick-taking card game developed by Ritesh Patel ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
Player name: A display name you enter when joining or creating a game room. This name is visible to other players in the same room and is saved locally on your device for convenience.
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The App stores the following data on your device only using local storage (SharedPreferences). This data is never transmitted to our servers or any third party:
Gameplay statistics: Games played, games won, tricks won, bid success rate, streaks, and high scores.
Achievements: Which in-game achievements you have unlocked.
Preferences: Your chosen player name and server connection settings.
You can clear this data at any time by clearing the App's storage in your device settings or by uninstalling the App.
Information Collected Automatically
Room codes: Temporary 6-character codes generated for each game session.
Gameplay data: Bids placed, cards played, and game actions during a session. This data exists only for the duration of the session and is not stored persistently.
Connection metadata: Your device's IP address is processed transiently by our game server solely to maintain the real-time WebSocket connection. It is not logged or stored.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect or store:
Real names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any personally identifiable information
Account credentials (there are no user accounts)
Location data
Payment information
Photos, contacts, or any other device data
3. How We Use Information
The information collected is used solely to:
Enable real-time multiplayer gameplay between players in the same room
Display player names to other players in the same game session
Maintain the game connection during an active session
Track your personal gameplay statistics and achievements locally on your device for your own reference
We do not use any data for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any purpose other than running the game.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties.

Hosts the game server
Railway processes connection data as a hosting provider. No game content or player names are stored by Railway beyond the active connection.
5. Data Retention
Session data (player names, bids, game actions): Deleted from server memory immediately when the game room is closed or all players disconnect.
No server database: The App does not use any server-side database. All game state is held in server memory during active sessions only.
Local device data (statistics, achievements, preferences): Retained on your device until you clear the App's data or uninstall it. This data never leaves your device.
6. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. The App contains no features that require or encourage users to provide personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will address it promptly.
7. Security
We implement reasonable technical measures to protect data during transmission:
All connections between the App and the game server use secure WebSocket (WSS) over HTTPS
The server requires an application-level secret token to reject unauthorized connections
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
