# ThoughtWalk Privacy Policy

## Summary
ThoughtWalk stores everything you enter — walks, tool entries, goals, reminders, and settings —
in local storage on your own device. This app has no user account, no advertising SDK, no
analytics SDK, no cloud database, and no remote AI service. We do not receive your journal
content through the app, and we have no server that could receive it even if we wanted to.
## Data processing
All prompts, suggestions, progress summaries, and charts are generated on your device. Some
features look for keywords in what you write to suggest a possible thinking pattern (like
"catastrophizing" or "mind reading") — these are simple, deterministic rules, not a machine
learning model, not a clinical assessment, and they can be wrong. Nothing you type is sent
anywhere for this processing.
## Storage and encryption
Your entries live in this app's private storage sandbox on your device, protected by iOS and
your device passcode. Depending on your iCloud or device-backup settings, this data may be
included in your personal device backups — we have no visibility into or control over that.
Separately, ThoughtWalk lets you create a passphrase-encrypted backup file (AES-256/AES-GCM)
that you can save anywhere you choose (Files, iCloud Drive, etc.) and restore later. We never
see or receive your passphrase. If you forget it, the backup file cannot be recovered by us or
anyone else — please store your passphrase somewhere safe.
## What we don't do
- We don't create an account or profile for you.
- We don't use advertising or analytics SDKs.
- We don't sell, rent, or share your data — we don't have your data to begin with.
- We don't use tracking cookies or cross-app/cross-site tracking of any kind.
## External links
The app links to external crisis helplines, emergency numbers, and (for feedback) your email
app. Following one of these links leaves ThoughtWalk and is governed by that destination's own
privacy practices, not this policy.
## Children
ThoughtWalk is intended for adults and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly
collect data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect data at all.
## Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above. Since the app has no way to
contact you directly, please check this page periodically if you have concerns.
