A host of lovely ideas from top to bottom. This is an album I should love, and do in parts and moments. The petite chamber arrangement are exactly what I want within these tunes,; however, it's a shame that the performance and recording hold it back. I appreciate that Jens Lekman may not be the most polished singer, but some of the pitchiness does detract from the enjoyability of the record, and to my ears Jens could have really benefited from being pushed back in the mix. Having said all of that, it's a fun record, just frustratingly one that move me in the ways it could and should.
