Silksong is a special game not only for meeting—and surpassing—expectations building over seven years, but refines the formula set by its predecessor. This game takes what worked well in Hollow Knight and raised the stakes, carrying the willing players with them over a fun (yet at times difficult) learning curve. One hundred per cent of the game was finished on 18.11.25, and its completion is a testament to its quality. The feel of the gameplay is nearly flawless, and the only real criticism I could raise would be with the final boss. As not a impressive as the end of Act II boss, I was hoping for somethign to push the envelope even further, but was gratned another rehash of a previouls boss. This final battle is well executed and thematically well designed, but I was left wanting something bigger, richer and maybe more absurd.
