SNAKE EYES PowerPoint Template (Embed questions directly into PowerPoint!)
2 dice per student
Timer
Directions:
Students partner up and place a whiteboard or scratch paper in front of them. Each student receives two dice. A question appears on the board, and partners work together to solve it. Once they have their answer, they write it down before the timer ends. Teams that answer correctly earn the chance to play a round of Snake Eyes. The teacher sets a 30-second timer while a target roll is displayed on the board. Both partners roll their dice as many times as possible during the 30 seconds, making a tally mark each time they roll the target combination. At the end of the round, partners combine their tally marks to determine their score for that question. Teams that answer incorrectly use the 30-second timer to find and correct their mistake before moving on.
Example: The prompt says a 2 and a 5. My partner and I roll continuously anytime my dice say 2 and 5 or 5 and 2 I put a tally mark on my paper. When the timer goes off I have three tally marks and my partner has one. Our score for the round was four.
Throughout the game, special Bonus Points rounds appear. During these rounds, all students roll their dice once and leave them on the table. A random target is then revealed. The consequence or reward of rolling that target is also on the screen and the teams must follow it.
Example: If either of your dice are a 4, you can add 10 to your score.
The game continues until all questions have been completed. The team with the highest total score at the end of the game wins!
FAQs and Tips:
It helps if you have different colored dice so if a student has a crazy roll it's easy to see whose dice it is and kids don't confuse their dice with their neighbors.
REMINDERS: TO EDIT ANY OF THE TEMPALTES YOU WILL FIRST NEED TO DOWNLOAD THEM TO YOUR COMPUTER. NOBODY IS ABLE TO ALTER THE ORIGINALS AS THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE USE THEM. ALL POWERPOINTS ARE MEANT TO BE USED IN POWERPOINT AND NOT GOOGLE SLIDES.
