Materials Needed:
One question printed on a paper for EVERY desk in the classroom
Recording Sheet one per student
Timer
Directions:
Prior to playing have one question laid out on every desk. Each student must start at their desk. They will begin by answering the question at their desk on their recording sheet. They will be given 1 minute at every desk, when the time is up the teacher says “SCOOT!”. Students leave the question but take their recording sheet and go to a different desk. They then try to answer that question.
This continues until every student has had an opportunity to answer every question at every desk. Then discuss as a class the most difficult questions.
FAQs and Tips:
You should establish a pattern that kids will move prior to playing to help prevent confusion and keep a lively pace.
Even if a student doesn’t finish, they move when time is up. This is a great way to check what concepts kids are struggling with.
