Materials Needed:
Table Foam Football sets one per group (Amazon Link)
Notes if playing lesson version
Three colors of tape for lines
Colored Task cards per group (the colors must correspond to the tape)
Directions:
You will need to divide the class into groups or tables and each one gets a table football set. There are multiple ways to play this game as outline below.
Lesson Version:
Throughout the lesson, the teacher calls on students to answer questions/participate/share/etc. If the student participated (or is correct, up to you), they get to “kick” one foam football aiming at the goal post. Each field goal is worth 3 points. Each table keeps track of their score throughout the lesson. The table with the most points at the end of the lesson wins.
Assignment Version:
Tape 3 lines down on each table. Each group will divide their set of task cards into three colors that should correspond to the tape lines. Flicking the football from ANY of the lines is worth equal points. However the closer line should correspond to harder difficulty of questions. The furthest line should correspond to the easiest difficulty of questions. The team works together to answer the questions. If they get it correct, they flick the football and try to make it through the goal post. Any field goal is worth 3 points. If they miss, nothing happens.
This continues with teams answering questions and filcking. The team with the most points wins.
FAQs and Tips:
The multipack of electrical tape works GREAT for this game. You can buy like black, red, yellow, and green in one pack from Walmart and that gives you enough colors.
You can also create a powerpoint with three columns that correspond to the line and use a powerpoint to help control the pace instead of task cards if you’d rather.
REMINDERS: TO EDIT ANY OF THE TEMPALTES YOU WILL FIRST NEED TO DOWNLOAD THEM TO YOUR COMPUTER. NOBODY IS ABLE TO ALTER THE ORIGINALS AS THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE USE THEM. ALL POWERPOINTS ARE MEANT TO BE USED IN POWERPOINT AND NOT GOOGLE SLIDES.
