Directions:
Divide the class into groups. The first time you play, demonstrate with the whole class. However, the more you play you can break them into groups of 6 or 8 students, play 3 vs. 3 or 4 vs. 4.
The purpose of the game is to end with the most points. Each round the teacher will ask a question. Without any talking, students will write down what they think the answer is. If they are confident they stand up or they can choose to “bluff” and stand up. Each team will choose ONE person from the other team, that is standing, to answer the question. Everyone must remain standing during this time. If they answer correctly, they get a point for every person that is standing on their team. If they were “bluffing” and/or answer incorrectly, they restart their points back at 0.
The game continues until all desired questions have been answered. The team that has the most points wins.
FAQs and Tips:
To add a twist, if someone is chosen and they answer wrong the opposite team can pick a 2nd person to answer the question, they had to have been standing. If the second person chosen from the team ALSO answers wrong the opposing teams can “steal” the points and add a point for every person on the team, who answered wrong, to their team. Example: Joey, Sarah, Amanda, and Gurshaan are standing. We pick Joey and he answers wrong. We then pick Sarah and she is also wrong. Our team steals 4 points because 4 people were standing.
