Materials Needed:
Paper and pencil or way to keep score
Directions:
Everyone is playing on their own. You will project the PowerPoint template. Explain to the class you are going to play a game. It will ask questions with a limited number of possible answers. They will get a point if they give the same answer as the MAJORITY of the class. Do one practice round. Explain that you will read the prompt, and everyone must remain QUIET until you ask for their answer. Show the first slide that says “What is the best type of chocolate.” Give kids about 15 seconds to decide on their answer. Countdown from 3, 2, 1. When you say 1 instruct students to shout out their answer. Listen for the one you hear most frequently. For example: MILK CHOCOLATE. Say “Everyone who put _____ as their answer raise your hand.” If that is indeed the majority, then anyone who said _____ gets a point.
Move to the next slide and restart the process. The game continues until you’ve done all the slides. The 5 students with the most points win.
FAQs and Tips:
Students do not get to ask to follow up questions about the prompt. They just have to go with their first instinct or interpret the question as whatever they believe.
REMINDERS: TO EDIT ANY OF THE TEMPALTES YOU WILL FIRST NEED TO DOWNLOAD THEM TO YOUR COMPUTER. NOBODY IS ABLE TO ALTER THE ORIGINALS AS THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE USE THEM. ALL POWERPOINTS ARE MEANT TO BE USED IN POWERPOINT AND NOT GOOGLE SLIDES.
