I am an Associate Professor of Finance at EDHEC. I joined EDHEC in July 2026 after serving as an Assistant Professor at Washington University in St. Louis (2012-2019) and Associate Professor at the University of Hong Kong (2019-2026).
I hold a B.A. in Economics from the University of St. Gallen, an M.Sc. in Finance and Economics (Distinction) and a Ph.D. in Finance from the London School of Economics. I was a visiting scholar at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2010-2011.
My main research agenda focuses on the intersection of asset pricing and international finance. My published work studies the sources of risks and associated risk premia, optimal portfolio choice, transaction costs, and macro-finance models. Besides my core research agenda my work also covers topics in information economics, mutual funds, and household finance.
At EDHEC I teach courses on econometrics (Ph.D.), derivatives (masters), and international finance (masters). Before EDHEC, he taught courses on investment theory (masters), derivatives (undergraduates, masters, MBA), asset pricing theory (Ph.D.), and corporate finance (MBA) at Wash U and HKU. I provide recorded lectures on Derivatives on YouTube, which have been watched over 44,800 times!
