Iman R. Kivi has published a new paper in Transport in Porous Media. This paper entitled “Characterization of hydraulic rock diffusivity using oscillatory pore pressure” provides analytical solutions for pore pressure diffusion with periodic sources in deformable porous media under different boundary conditions. Verification against numerical simulations shows that the analytical solutions accurately address amplitude attenuations and phase shifts of pressure signals in rock. These solutions set a reliable foundation for rapid interpretation of in situ data, supporting real-time subsurface characterization and operational decision-making.
