So recently I noticed we cannot communicate with external contacts (external to our domain). In Teams desktop client and web client, we see for existing chats "Due to policy changes, this chat is no longer available. Continue with Skype for Business." for external contacts. On mobile we see "Administrator has disabled chat for this user". We can receive their chats but we can't send anything.

Skype for Business Server 2015 and its predecessors allowed you to configure an Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) proxy on the Edge Server and an XMPP Gateway on the Front End Server or Front End pool. This functionality is no longer available in Skype for Business Server 2019.

In-place upgrades were available in Skype for Business Server 2015 but are no longer supported in Skype for Business Server 2019. Side-by-side upgrade and coexistence is supported. For more information, see Migration to Skype for Business Server 2019.

IMPORTANT: The 8x8 Skype for Business Integration is no longer officially supported, and can longer be installed for general use. Current users may continue to use this integration until it is officially retired, but no support for this product can be provided.

Skype was previously available on Java mobiles,[101] Nokia X, Symbian, BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10 devices. In May 2009 a Version 3.0 was available on Windows Mobile 5 to 6.1, and in September 2015 a Version 2.29[102] was available on Windows Phone 8.1; in 2016 Microsoft announced that this would stop working in early 2017 once Skype's transition from peer-to-peer to client-server was complete.[103]

As of February 2012, Skype provides support through their web support portal, support community, @skypesupport on Twitter, and Skype Facebook page. Direct contact via email and live chat is available through their web support portal. Chat Support is a premium feature available to Skype Premium and some other paid users.

I've found the quickest and least problematic way to set up online video conferencing in Moodle is to use this free and open service: (Based in Sweden) although I don't know how long it'll be available for under these terms. Just create an iframe in a Moodle page which embeds the appear.in page. You can password protect "rooms" in appear.in and put the password on the Moodle iframe page or just use very long random room names to prevent random strangers from dropping in unexpectedly.

Currently I have the problem that after activating the content inspection the participation in external Skype meetings is no longer possible. The exception list is adjusted and all skype domains are allowed.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Enterprises with multi-year contracts and financial commitments may find themselves unable to satisfy their financial commitment once the service is no longer available. Unavailability of the service may technically be a breach of contract but that is a conversation that should be had with the supplier now rather than later.

Bear in mind that as there is no official Microsoft urpmi repository for this version of Skype.

What sync_skype_urpmi does is make a local urpmi repository from downloaded copy of the current skypeforlinux RPM.

Microsoft 365, previous versions called Office 365, is a collection of subscription productivity services and applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, among others. Office is the one-time purchase version of these applications available on PC or Mac. Both Microsoft 365 and Office are comprised of client software applications and connected online services (or web apps in the case of Microsoft 365 for the web) that span many platforms and have numerous interdependent experiences. For more details about Outlook, see the Outlook section of this privacy statement.

You can access the privacy controls within your Microsoft 365 and Office client apps. These privacy settings allow you to configure your connected experiences. For example, you can choose to enable connected experiences that download online content, but not connected experiences that analyze content. Turning off connected experiences will also turn off additional experiences, such as document co-authoring and online file storage. But even if you use this privacy setting to turn off connected experiences, certain functionality will remain available, such as syncing your mailbox in Outlook, as well as essential services described below. These controls are not available when using Microsoft 365 for the web, since you will already be cloud-connected. For more information about accessing these controls, see Account Privacy Settings.

The other Microsoft apps on your Surface Duo may prompt you to enable functionality to enable the full experience of the app or you may be asked to allow optional diagnostic data collection. Skype for Business Server 2019 is no longer available and will reach end-of-life in January 2024, with migration to Microsoft Teams cloud application being encouraged by the corporation.
