We're new. We haven't registered as an organization. We're still forming and looking for more initial members to take us forward.
A social enterprise is a way to describe a business that's trying to achieve something positive for people and/or the environment, beyond simply generating wealth.
We'll register as a Cooperative Corporation in Pennsylvania. It's a for-profit business structure where workers/members own the business and democratically make decisions.

To create meaningful career opportunities in Pittsburgh & Allegheny County by producing sustainable home & garden products and investing in our members and community.

Use circular design and sustainability frameworks to create innovative home and garden products for local clients.
Establish a diverse, inclusive, equitable, accessible, and democratically-governed worker-owned cooperative with an elected Board of Directors.
Foster a learning culture where worker-owners and apprentices gain new skills and knowledge through project delivery.
Establish democratic processes for sharing revenue with worker-owners while investing in paid apprenticeship opportunities for entry-level and career transitioning-workers.
Develop workshops, courses, and mentorship programs that benefit members, apprentices, and the public.
Establish partnerships with organizations that provide additional opportunities for members or reclaimed materials for products.

The info sessions are from 6 - 7:30 PM in Meeting Room 2 at the CLP - East Liberty library.

Join us for a few minutes or stay the whole time if you can. Our room reservation has an extra 15 minutes on either end to settle in and settle out (5:45 - 7:45 PM).
