The Chilean Society of The University of Edinburgh and ChileGlobal Seminars UK invite students and researchers to submit abstracts for the seminar: "Thinking Chile and Latin America: Sharing ideas in Edinburgh 2019".

Thinking Chile and Latin America: Sharing Ideas in Edinburgh 2019 has the aim to reinforce The University of Edinburgh as a centre of thinking and development, to promote new and innovative knowledge for the development of Chile and Latin America through a strong networking based on a multidisciplinary perspective. The aim of the seminars is to provide a space for sharing and disseminating ideas grounded on high quality research carried out by Chilean and Latin American students and researchers in the UK, as well as the creation of links in an environment of companionship and cooperation.

The seminar this year has 4 tracks:

  1. One Health for Latin American Development
  2. Sustainable Cities in Latin America
  3. Artificial Intelligence
  4. Arts, Culture and Society

We also encourage to submit your abstract to our poster session in the open track “Thinking Chile: Fresh ideas and new perspectives for Latin America”. Posters will be exhibited during lunchtime the day of the event.

This track is open to all disciplines and topics. We welcome empirical and theoretical pieces of research that help us to reflect upon Latin America's future as a developed continent and a better place to live.

We offer a limited number of travel bursaries to the event plus accommodation, up to £80 total.

Key dates:

  • 20th 25th of January 2019: Deadline for abstract submission for oral presentations and posters.
  • 25th 30th of January 2019: Notification of acceptance.
  • 8th of February 2019: Conference date.
