Author's Note: Heeeeey, sorry for the lack of updates. It's just that I've recently gone on a long hiatus on one of my other story, the Grim, and just generally been busy practicing my skills until last week
But now that I'm back. Let's just say that I'm happy to be working again

[Self-taught Style. First Form. Territory of the Blind]
As the demon's blade descended down on his head, (Y/n)'s blade roared out of it's sheath in response
CLANG
The two weapons clashed together, producing bright sparks along the edge where they hit. A gale blasted through the clearing as the force of the impact made both blades tremble
'How?'
Neo is confused. She twisted her body mid-air and sent another horizontal slash at him, but it too was easily deflected by a mere flick of his blade
Her demon art is supposed to block off his perception of light signal sending to his eyes and disrupt them mid-way. This boy is, by all means, as blind as a bat without his vision working properly in such poor light conditions
So how was it that he can sense her attacks?
[Demon Arts: Kaleidoscope]
Neo kicked the ground beneath her and launched her petite body at him. She casted two illusions. One moving to the left, one straight ahead, and her real self to the right. All three of them drew their blade, striking at his neck simultaneously from three different directions
In response the boy drew his blade once again....and thrust it without hesitation toward her. His sword ripping through the air like an arrow, and they clashed again. Her illusions halted beside him, their strikes easily passing through him like ghosts
Sparks went flying as she narrowly deflected his strike. Without pausing, the demon withdrew and strike again, and again, and again.
Deflected. Deflected. Deflected. Blocked. Deflected. Blocked. Deflected. Deflected. Deflected
Their forms stopped briefly as they struck each other, pushing for an edge over their opponent
She usually is not one who would easily lose their cool, especially in such an easy battle as this
But damn is this annoying
The thought of that Lie Ren boy and his special Kekkei Genkai already left her mind long ago, diverting all her focus on this particular human instead. His abilities were subpar to the likes of her, but his intuition clearly has an edge to it that makes her felt wary
Perhaps, if given enough time, this boy could stand at the pinnacle of swordsmanship like the ones before him
He is a threat to the demon kind. But most importantly, to Her
And for that, he'd have to be disposed of
<><><><><><><><><><>
Shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit I'm in deep shit
Please, demon lady Neo or whatever your name is, just leave me alone already! I'm someone not worthy of your time
Through my glass-like fractured vision, under the death threat that is the intense weight of the sword descending before me, I silently screamed. I did not screamed verbally. Screaming takes time and energy. Precious time and energy that is keeping me alive this very second
Is this what it feels like to be on the edge of death? Damn was it terrifying. Terrifying enough that I could piss my pant
I did not piss my pants. Pissing needs time and energy, as was crying and wailing and other pointless gesturing of a dying man. If I were to piss here, I would die
None the less, I still piss in my mind
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
With a sudden burst of strength from the fear inside me, I swung my blade and completely push Neo off her feet, sending her flying several yards back
*sigh*
The truth is...While I may look calm and collected on the outside, I'm actually in the more disadvantageous position in this fight. From the moment the demon girl attacked me, I have been constantly using the [Concentrated Breathing] in short gaps between strikes to keep up with her obviously superior physical attacks
As a result, my lungs began burning in pain from exhaustion, as if placed on a flaming hot torch and ready to burst at any moment. It's akin to lighting a match in your stomach after swallowing dozens of chilly pepper. Simple. Agonizing. Pain
And at the rate this is going, I won't even last 5 more minutes against her
Which is the reason why I'm going on the defensive. Under normal circumstances, my vision would have prevented me from fighting back against an opponent with such high caliber like her. Luckily, I have one skill that can help me
The [Territory of the Blind] is a defensive-oriented skill created by me to guard off against an assassin-type enemy. It utilizes split-concentration and sixth sense in order to catch and deflect any projectile attempting to cross over the AoE of this skill
Well, to say I created it would be quite incorrect. More like I copied it off from a certain Rose Milf when she was teaching me swordsmanship
Copied, you'd repeated, how?
Unlike a certain counterpart of myself from another distance universe, I could not absorb my enemy's abilities by consuming them, nor could I learn their racial traits simply by killing them, so how was it that I could replicate this technique?
The answer was simple: [Mechanical Tracing]
From an outsider's point of view, this skill is nothing more than a copy-paste sort where one materialized a weapon out of thin air after touching the original once, and they'd still be right. Sort of. That explanation pretty much fits with what they'd seen in FSN and UBW
However, a Nasuverse enthusiast would disagree. To understand the true concept of [Tracing], and to an extent, [Unlimited Blade Work], we'll have to observe the origin of this magecraft, how it came to be and the machination behind it
It first started as just the projection of items without material, something I discovered I can do when using [Item Creation] with nothing in hand but a few points of stamina. The projected item lasts only a few seconds of course, and it's durability/damage is literal shit. But the experiments got me thinking:
If the System gave me the skill to create anything, and it also gave me the ability to copy anything...then does that mean? …
I won't spare you the detail, just know that I began copying off the Fate anime at that point onward
There are seven steps:
1. Judging the concept of creation
2. Hypothesizing the basic structure
3. Duplicating the composition material
4. Imitating the skill of it's making
5. Sympathizing with the experience of it's growth
6. Reproducing the accumulated years
7. Excelling every manufacturing process
In short, [Tracing] isn't just about copying the blade, the damage nor the quality of it
It copied everything. The process of forging it, the enemies it has slain, the memories it has retained, the essence that makes it special, the technique it's been used on, even a part of it's user if there's a particular bond between them
Therefore, by learning about the blade, you learn everything about it
And yes, before you ask. The weapon in my hand right now is a solid copy of Summer's sword. Since my skill level in Tracing were low, the blade is significantly inferior compare to it's original counterpart, about 95% weaker if I could wager
Name: Mangetsu no Hana (The Blooming Moon Flower)
Owner: Summer Rose
Rank: F (EX)
Technique:
- [Territory of the Blind]: Automatically react to any person crossing the boundary of this skill (Limited to one move at current level)
- [Moon's Blessing]: All Moon Breathing technique becomes more powerful. Cooldowns are reduced (Limited to only 20% at current level)
- [???????]: [???? Eyes] Required to use this (Unusable at current level)
Even though this is only 5% of it's maximum potential, the sword already enables me to fight on par with a demon who's several times more powerful and experienced than me. Truly a godsend. Just...marvelous
Although...
I grinded my teeth as instead of retreating after the first strike, Neo went for a second swing at me from the side. I raised my blade, just in time for the shattering blow to crash against me and sent me several feet back
Intercepting the first strike that cross your striking range, and completely parry them. No matter how fast. No matter how powerful. An absolute offense in exchange for an absolute defense. However, it was just for one strike, which makes the current situation quite unfavorable for me
Ugghhhhhh...if only I have a way to counter her vision-blocking ability, this battle would have ended a long time ago
Think, think, just what should I do? I couldn't just place a GPS on Neo to track her movement, nor can I-
My eyes widened as I stopped, a lightbulb appeared on my head
Wait, who said I need to see to fight back?
Isn't there already a skill to let me perfectly sense the enemy surrounding me?
[Appraisal]
My eyes flared up in the dark upon the skill's activation. Instantly, before me a window appeared. Neo's window
Name: Neopolitan
Race: Demon (+170% HP regeneration. +50% to all stats)
Level: 57
Taijutsu: 22 (+11)
Ninjutsu: 15 (+7.5)
Kenjutsu: 10 (+5)
Kekkei Genkai: Mirror of Illusion (Ninjutsu)
*Passives:
- [Extreme Sunlight Vulnerability]: -90% to all stats when exposed to sunlight
I promptly ignore the stats, having seen them beforehand
There it is....the HUD! The floating thingy in the air that's rapidly approaching me!
Bitch you thought you could hide?!
[Breath of the Moon. First Form. Crescent Slash]
I slashed at her position. Neo must have evaded the attack seeing the lack of decline in her Hp bar, but that's enough time for her to cease her offense, allowing me to move forward and closing the distance between us
[Breath of the Moon. First Form. Crescent Slash]
This time, having forced her into a corner, my attack easily landed. Neo kicked me in the chest and sent me sliding backward to create some space between us
Bold of her to think I would let her go that easily
[Breath of the Moon. Third Form. Eternal Night of the Lonely Moon]
I swung my blade up, then down, then spun it to the left, to the right, and do a full rotation. From the tip of my sword, numerous torrent of crescent-shaped blades soared through the air and toward the direction of the demon

Pain
Neo growled as she narrowly dodged the vicious projectiles that barely grazed her skin, which left a sharp trail of blood behind.
Layers after layers of illusions were cast in a vain hope of distracting them, yet the boy always seem to know where she is heading. His unblinking gaze locked down on her position like a predator would it's prey, while storm of spinning whirlwind continued to pursue her from both sides
Neo understand
She understand now, and she regret it
From the start...she has been fighting an uphill battle. It was not her who held the superior position, but rather the supposed 'prey' who she fought against. Her every moves, her every strikes, he predicted it all, and he used the children as bait to lure her out of hiding, knowing that she still lurks somewhere in the forest
He had easily planned it out since the beginning. This monster...
Pain
She tried to block them all, but sadly the air blades were too many, too fast, and simply too strong for Neopolitan to properly parry. Before she know it, one of them got her by the arm, and the rest shortly came after, tearing chunks off her meat and cutting deep into her bones with each connected hit
Pain
With a scream, the demon finally cancelled her skill on the human, causing his vision to return to normal again
<><><><><><><><>
I blinked as the fractured landscape around me shattered, converting back to what it was before
Barely standing in front of me now was Neopolitan, with her body full of scratches, her left hand severed from the elbow up, and her clothes left in tatter, barely covering up her naked body underneath
What? No bra?
If it wasn't for the fact that I just pulled an Adam Taurus on her, the sight of Neo's body, whether if she's a demon or not, would have kinda turned me up to be honest
It's a shame that I have to kill her now.
Seeing my blade poising toward her, demon Neo also weakly raised her parasol, the tip of which glinted in the moonlight. What is she thinking?
I narrowed my eyes, thousand of possibilities crossing through my mind as I tried to comprehend the girl's thought
She's probably preparing something this very moment. A strategy that could turn the battle in her favor, perhaps, or a secret technique that could instantly kill me in one hit, as most RPG players with death magic do?
Either way, I don't want to accept the risk. Closing on a dying enemy is never a good idea, as they may trigger some sort of self-destruct ability and bring you with them to the other side. Nope, it's never a good idea to take risks
Let's play it safe and keep my distance
The Tanegashima materialized in my hand. I squeezed the trigger
BANG
Neo stiffened, before her eyes slowly trailed down her body and stopped at the gaping hole in her chest, from which blood began pouring out in small streams.
A cough tore through her throat, making her spat up blood down the ground. Hacking up the red-stained saliva that came after, She quickly raised a hand to cover her mouth from shock
Across from her, smokes rose up from (Y/n)'s matchlock pistol as he calmly reloaded it for another shot
BANG
With her remaining hand, Neo's blade managed to slice the incoming bullet in half, but that didn't prevent both halves to hit her in the stomach and the head, making her experience yet another wave of pain
With a roar, the demon kicked the ground beneath and threw herself toward the human in rage, her sword descended down on him at monstrous speed, splitting the air in it's trajectory as intended to chop the boy in half
As for (Y/n), he carefully aimed down the sight, took another deep breath, and lit the match
BANG
The third shot hit it's target
Neo's blade, along with the hand holding it, was blasted off her shoulder as the heavy iron bullet ripped through her shoulder, blood spraying from the wound left behind by it
Even with the demon's enhanced regeneration, it would have taken too long to completely heal her wounds, too long. This is also a part of his plan. She thought weakly. To bait her to get close and then finish her off in one strike
Neo stumbled blindly, her heartbeat slowing down as she collapsed on her knee. Unconsciously, she looked up, staring at the sky above her with a blank gaze of a dying person
The moon seems so beautiful tonight, she remarked, as was the stars above. They shone with divine grace. Unreachable. Unrivaled. Unattainable. A kind of charm possess only by the most blessed creations of Kami
Her gaze shifted to (Y/n)
Yet, it's beauty pale in comparison to this monster in front of her.
The monster who, despite his human appearance, is soaked in the blood of his opponent. The monster with terrifying abilities and an even more terrifying intellect. The monster that sows the darkness and reap the despair. Playing with it's opponent until it got bored and dispose of them like broken toys
Such charm, such grace, such...elegance
Blood rolled down her nose, accompanied by the sudden dizziness that enveloped her
'I think....I might have fallen in love with this human'
She smiled, even as (Y/n) drew his blade, it's surface reflecting the moonlight above, casting his figure in a divine glow as he raised it over his head
She smiled, even as said blade tore through her throat, easily crushing her vocal cord and silencing her scream of pain afterward
She easily smiled through it all, even as the monster leaned down and whispered something in her ears
[Dematerialization]
And Neopolitan's world fade into darkness

WHAT!?
WHAT!?
Dematerialization impossible. Impurities detected inside host
Dematerialization impossible. Host level too high for proper analysis
Skill [Purify] required in order to continue
Dammit!

Author's Note: Sorry that was kinda boring. I tried making the fight scene a little bit more interesting to you guy but that seems to have failed
Anyway, it's pretty late at night here, so I'm just gonna peace out and get some rest before the Chemistry grinding tomorrow
Also, let me know what you guys think of this chapter
