Happiness.
The stimulation of your senses when something good happened to you, aka a state of being happy. Your boss deciding to give you a day-off. Your teacher giving you good grades. Your mother making your favorite dish for Saturday dinner. Screams of the people who you don't like as they drowned in their own blood
If you are a normal person, it can come as quite the enjoyable feeling. These sensation are hard to come by, so it should always be treasured as your most precious memories
Doubly so if you are (Y/n) (L/n)
"Haha" I laughed "....haha..haha...hahahaha....hahahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA"
Standing alone on the deck of the Morningstar vessel, I stood proudly with my coat billowing around in the sea wind. My arms spread to both side, welcoming the change of weather from several months being spent in that freezing hell known as Atlas
We finally passed the island where we're supposed to drop my crew off, about 5 km away from our destination as promised. It's basically just a deserted piece of rock protruding out from the sea with no sign of life in it. But due to it being a convenient route for Vacuan merchant ship to get to Atlas, my crew can just easily wait for one to pass by and "borrow" them
So now they'll have to depart and tend to themselves there, seeing that we've done our part of helping them escape from the government
Well, I was sad though...I've gotten quite attached to them these past few days so it's hard to personally let them go, especially after what happened with my old pack
Ding!
You have left Atlas!
Thank you for completing the tutorial! 10,000 EXP has been given to you!
You are now level 98! 2 levels until the second evolution!

The Real Game has only just begun! We wish you good luck on your journey, dear Player
:)
You're going to need it
I blinked, before rubbing my eyes across my sleeve
Thank you, System
In front of me, the faint silhouette of Menagerie island slowly became more apparent through the morning fog that crawled along the sea. A sleeping exotic paradise, filled with life of all kind of life in it. My destination, the place where I'm going to spend my vacation on
Already, my minds were already thinking about what to do when I got there
1. Cat girls
2. Cat girls
3.NOT doing anything stupid that might raise a death flag for myself
4. Cat girls
5. Cat girls
Yep, priorities are in order
Anyway, I managed to arrive in Menagerie without any incident along the way. No ships are killed ever since yesterday, and no search attempts have been made by the government either. That means the Atlas military has decided to leave me alone for now due to unknown reason. Ironwood must have been quite busy these days with his paperwork or something
You know what this mean?
I finally have the vacation that I deserved. No killing, no trying to survive, no hiding from the Atlas military, no Salem, no Cinder. I'll finally be a free man, uncontrolled by my shitty luck that's been dragging me down until now
Bruh...speaking of which, even my journey from Atlas to here is a hassle all by itself
At least it can't do anything to me now that I'm at Menagerie. Right?

The message flashed across my mind
Nope, better not think about that
I'll be here, relaxing among the Faunus population, eating whatever I want, sleeping however I want, doing whatever I want while keeping a low profile. I'll began my life as someone unnoticed by the world like how an isekai protagonist should
Yare yare, the things that I could do....Just thinking bout it makes me excited
Matsuo and Carmine smiled at their captain with smiles on their faces
"Welcome to Menagerie, Captain (Y/n) Kenway. We wish you an enjoyable experience here"
"I sure will, guys. I sure will..."
<><><><><><><><><>
Unbeknownst to (Y/n) who is busy in his daydream, his crew is discussing among themselves on the island he dropped them off
"Do you think the Captain is alright?" A concerned man voiced his opinion in a whisper "He's been laughing and smiling and sulking all this time ever since he dropped us here. I couldn't even imagine what he's thinking at times like this, especially after what happened yesterday"
[What happened yesterday] aka when the Morningstar killed and sank more than 200 ships in sea combat single-handedly and almost without effort while doing it, that is what they refer to the event itself in order to avoid taboo among the criminals
(Also not mentioning what happened with the SDC's battle cruiser, to which their captain made them swore to keep it a secret)
"Y-yeah, after an incident like that, nobody should be happy, no matter how twisted they are" Another chimed in "I'm starting to think Captain Kenway is a psychopath who just want to watch the world burn, but that may just be a misunderstanding on our part"
"Misunderstanding?" The man spoke up, widening his eyes in exasperation "Listen, kid. People do something because they have a motive. Money, fame, sense of power. You give a man a cause, he will go to a horrifying length to get it. As a former swindler myself, I can tell what people want just with a glance at them, and that give me a pretty clear look at their inner self"
"And what do you see when you look at him, Heath?"
Heath looked them straight in the eye
"Nothing. Our captain desires nothing but having a good time in this world"
They glanced at each other with confused looks
"Isn't that a good thing? He isn't greedy and is simply enjoying things as they are"
"On the contrary, that's the worst possible outcome" Heath replied, casually toying with his sleeve "To start with, we don't even know what his definition of 'a good time' is"
The blood in their veins froze up as the criminals-turned-pirates slowly come to a horrifying realization
That's right. If somebody want to enjoy themselves, they would have just simply go on a vacation, not killing, plundering and fighting battles out in the sea like this, unless captain (Y/n) see such activities like that as "a good time". With that said, it's clear what's on their mind
Their Captain is batshit insane
"Second, a lack of desire is the sign that they are mentally unstable. People who have nothing to lose, people who just don't care, people who are insane, people who only wish for the destruction of this world, people who have a darker, more twisted personality hidden in them, waiting to bare it's fang toward the world"
They began shaking
He smirked "Or he is just someone with low expectations in life. You can't be disappointed if there's nothing to disappoint you in the first place, right?"
His crew mates reluctantly agreed, but they beg to differ inside
"Regardless, I still want you to know just how dangerous he is. Captain (Y/n) doesn't look like someone who would do something for money, fame, nor power. He simply think he should do that, and he do that. It's simple, but that's exactly what makes him unpredictable as an individual, perhaps dangerous even"
"But what makes him do it? Surely there must be some logic to his madness?"
"There is none. He does it just because he can. One moment he can be saving criminals like you and give you your salvation in life, the next he can sink hundreds of battleships and causing conflicts with the Schnee with a smile on his face, aka [What happened yesterday], A truly chaotic neutral man if I have to say so"
"Woah, you sounds like you're quite experienced in these things, Heath" The man inclined in response, a charming smirk befitting of a professional swindler crossing his face
"As I said, I'm a former-swindler. It'd be a shame to my name if I can't see through a person with my eyes"
"Haha, you're right" They shook hands with him "Well then, it's time to depart. May we see each other at another time, comrade"
"I hope so"
Heath smiled before he gazed toward the Morningstar sailing away with an unreadable looks in his eyes
When he is finally alone, "Heath" pulled off his disguise. His handsome, pale face replaced with the face of a middle-aged man instead
"You all thought it was Heath...but it was me, Reaper #2"
"(Y/n)...so that is your name, Grim?" He pulled out his Scroll "A sinister name indeed. Just hearing it is enough to cause goosebumps on my skin"
The electronic device in his hand buzzed, signalling him that his call has been answered
"Reaper #1 here" A rough, manly voice sounded out from the other side "Wat u got 4 me?"
"Grim. Location. Cat girls. Ship. Code Noir"
"I got u. Be r8 back. Iron is having a Wood"
"Tell him to get his shit together, Grim's not waiting"
"Wheel duo"
Snapping his Scroll shut, the agent pulled on his hood and attached a skull mask to his face. He pulled out his pistol, spun it around as he unloaded the magazine and replaced it one swift movement
Pulling back the slide with one satisfying 'click', signifying the bullet has been stocked inside the chamber, he chuckled
"You can run, but you can't hide, Grim" The man whispered "We are Reaper, we are everywhere. And Til Death will we hunt you down"
<><><><><><><><><><>
"Alistair" Helen stared at her fellow Grimm's back "What's wrong?"
"...."
The vixen has been silent ever since yesterday when she went to (Y/n)'s mother. It's clear that something from the visit is troubling her greatly. Although she may had an idea as to what it is
It wasn't long after returning here that she began telling the fox Grimm about things that happened in the Overworld. Nothing major, just about the political and economic situations back in the human Kingdoms, as well as situational report from the Wizard himself
(As tight-lipped as he is, Headmaster Ozpin can become pretty conversational about his business once you've given him a steaming cup of coffee beforehand, either intentionally or not)
Though that soon went to the bad side when she slipped out the fact that (Y/n) may be different from them
Needless to say she freaked the fuck out
Perhaps it's still too soon to inform Alistair about (Y/n) after all. The kitsune may have extraordinary intelligence, but that alone doesn't guarantee she will be able to control her emotion upon hearing it
Facts. Alistair hates being lied to, whether it's for her own good or not
"Did she tell you the story?"
"The story is not right" Her three tails started rising up "It's true, but not. (Y/n)'s condition does fit the story in a way, but what if there's another layer to it?"
"Alistair"
"I'm not riling myself up if that's what you mean" She pondered "We all know how incomprehensible the complete human soul's structure is. Such a thing can only be gain under 2 special conditions: A human's body to shape it and possession of Aura to create it, not mentioning the compatibility between those two factors. Without those, the newly-formed souls are only incomplete products at best and an abomination at worst"
"But assuming that was not the case and her story is true, the chances of successfully fertilize him would have to be 1 x 10^-10 percent! Furthermore, one's Aura does not come from the sperm of the male but can only be properly created by interacting with the Aura inside their mother's ovum, thus the possibility of him being HER son is far from likely"
"Which means the story of him having a human father doesn't add up at all!" She threw her hands to the sky "But then why would Lady Pride lie to us? It doesn't make sense. Perhaps she is trying to hide something about our leader"
"Alistair, enough"
"...But what could it be? Something that even she couldn't reveal to us. A curse maybe? But there is no curse that can give away or create human souls from nothing, so is it simply necromancy or soul-related magic that helps him-"
"Alistair, hey!" She slapped the girl hard "Snap out of it!"
"Ugh..."
She appeared to be daze from the sudden pain. It would be better to make the fox focus with another slap
SLAP
"Wait, sto-"
Alistair. You need to calm down
SLAP
"Hele-"
Like, really calm down
SLAP
"I'm alrea-"
Calm down!
SLAP
"You bitch!"
SLAP SLAP SLAP SLAP SLAP
"....." Helen stared at her hands with a blank look
It must have slipped. How very careless of her
"....Are you done, you damned sadist?" Alistair glared up at Helen, her cheeks red and stinging with pain. Tears gathered at the edge of her crimson eyes, but she is fine otherwise
Oops
"Let's start from the beginning" She averted her eyes "How did you even know (Y/n) is a human in the first place, especially after we witnessed his evolution as a Grimm?"
"The same way you did. I simply collect the clue then piece it together" She shrugged, finally calming down "Standard stuff, really. I can't say for sure that (Y/n) is a human, but he's not a Grimm either"
"So that's why you came to his mother's place to get a confirmation from her?"
"Correct. I went into the fortress through the front door while making sure I look pissed poor, attitude and all that. If I were to calmly ask her about whether or not he's a human, Lady Salem WOULD probably try to cover up the information like she did with you. That's why I've made sure she get the implication that I know everything from the start, hence my bad mood"
She grinned
"Basic Interrogation. Someone who easily shows their emotion and is understanding would likely to fish out more information from their target . True to that, she informed me about his origin, about how he have a human father, about how he is always lonely because of his special condition which made it hard him to socialize with others, and about how he escaped outside because he wants to make his own way into this world"
(Y/n)? Hard to socialize?
How hot is Antarctica again?
"I still felt like there's more than it appeared, but the current story still mostly, and I mean mostly, match with what I managed to find"
"Care to tell me about that?"
"The earliest, and probably the most obvious hint I saw was when you haven't join the pack yet" Alistair sent her a mildly smug look, but soon returning to it's serious look "He taught us how to speak and write in human language"
A pause
"Let me repeat" Helen said slowly "(Y/n), someone who has only stranded in the human world for only a week, can perfectly speak and write human language, something which can takes up to 3 months for us to learn by ourselves?"
"Well, he is just that smart" Alistair grinned, before it slowly faded from her face "Or that he had already grown accustomed to the human world beforehand"
"It's one thing to understand a foreigner's language, it's another thing to understand their culture. How they speak, how they act, how they fight...he got it down to the finest of details, as if he has already gotten used to it"
"It doesn't count as proof, does it?"
"No it doesn't, but it add up to the story"
"The second sign came when Murdoch and I found an injured raven freezing to death in the snow, we brought it to (Y/n) to make ourselves dinner"
Helen's eyes twitched at the word 'Raven'.
She remembered fighting a woman with that same name before
'Could it be...?'
Her thoughts were cut off by Alistair, who continued on with her monologue
"But apparently (Y/n) doesn't like bird meat that much, so he healed the thing using something that we at the time do not know, to which later I began suspecting it to be Aura since only such a thing can heal human" She sighed "I should have noticed it then, but oh well"
"The third clue is also when we're at the village. The Grimm started attacking him on sight when he got out, which is strange because our race is usually neutral toward each other unless provoked, and he certainly hadn't attacked them beforehand" She hummed "And we all know that Grimm only attack one thing with such hostility: Human"
And due to their nature as low level Grimm at that time, coupled with the fact that they've never met human before, the Deadly Sins weren't able to identify him as something like that. It makes perfect sense why he allow them to travel with him
Maybe that's also why he disbanded the pack shortly after. (Y/n) knew it was only going to be a matter of time before they find out the truth about him, so he decided to make the initiative and depart with them
Well well, looks like she had underestimated that sly wolf again. He never fail to surprise her with that unpredictability of his
"The forth is when he disbanded the pack. (Y/n) said we would be surprised at what he is" her eyes narrowed
"He said what, not who. That doesn't seems like he's referring to his position as the Sin of Pride, but rather the nature of his race. But then we had seen his evolution, so he is a Grimm, but evidences suggests he is a human. Unlike the Grimm-hybrid, he can't be..."
Helen smiled
"He can't be what?"
She trailed off, her eyes brightened in realization
"...A Grimm with the soul of a human?" She whispered, impressed
To be honest, it's not that far off. Helen also come off with the same conclusion after a while of thinking back then
There certainly has been attempts to combine Grimm and human before, either by transferring a human's Aura inside a Grimm, injecting the human with their blood, swapping certain parts of their DNA with the others, or if one is crude and stupid enough, natural breeding
Biologically speaking, that last part is simply impossible since their sperm structure doesn't match with humans, plus the Grimm mostly kill the women instead of breeding with them properly, so it has already been deemed to be an unscientific and flawed experiments by the community a long time ago
But what if some of it's conditions are tweaked?
What if...a Grimm's, or in this case, Lady Salem's evolution is brought into equation? Will the result be different then?
The Lady Of Pride is one among the seven alive individuals who managed to attain the third main evolution, something that is considered to be the apex for all creatures in this world. In battles, someone such as her could easily wipe out an entire army of human with a snap of her finger if she were to wish it
Lady Salem is also someone who stood at their peak. Intellectually and physically, she could be considered as entirely different from the lower Grimm used in the experiments
So, assuming she found herself a male human who have enough strength to thoroughly satisfy her (and also assuming she didn't eat him mid-intercourse as a snack), the chances of Lady Salem producing such a unique offspring is...well
Alistair shook her head
No, it is still too soon to draw a conclusion. She will have to look deeper into it later
Until they know who his father is, she's not buying that one bit
"But I DID overreact when I first know he's a human" She sighed "I should have known better not to doubt him. (Y/n)'s been dropping hints for us all this time, it's my fault for not realizing it sooner"
"You are not mad at him for being a human"
"Well yes, but actually no" She waved her hand "I'm more mad at myself for not noticing it sooner. Beside, I could understand his circumstances and the reason why he chose to hide it from us"
"Can you imagine what (Y/n) must have gone through?" She whispered "If someone were to discover about his secret, he will be shunned from both worlds. Hunted by the humans, despise by the Grimm, unable to find himself a place he would call home in either world. Now I could understand why he got locked up in the fortress in the first place"
Is that why he accept them in the first place? Back in Atlas, they were chased from their packs just because their race didn't fit in with the others, since allowing one with a different specie to join a Grimm pack is considered taboo among them. That's why they were surprised when (Y/n) took them in with open arms
He fed them, he taught them, he considered them as his family and treat them like equals . (Y/n) may think it's nothing more than a gesture of hospitality, yet his actions means the world to the young Alistair
Living with a person like him is like a dream. That's why...they couldn't have known the painful past he hid behind that grin of his
Emotionally, (Y/n) may had suffered more than either of them could possibly know, yet he didn't act like it
Helen shook her head
"I don't think you should be sad about that"
"Huh?"
"We know he must not have a good childhood. Yet, despite his circumstances, (Y/n) had never complained about anything to us, didn't he? For him, whether he's a human or not doesn't matter. He know that the moment he succumbed to depression, he'd have given up to his life for fate to decide"
That is right, (Y/n) is the Heir to the Sin of Pride. To admit himself to be beneath something would be unlike him
So his circumstances will be his demise
Who decide that?
So he'll have to live the rest of his life in shame, just because he does not belong to either of their world
Who decide that?
The one to decide...is him, and him alone
If his existence is the bane to this world, then he will stay alive just to spite it. If Fate want him to be it's puppet, then he'll be the most troublesome puppet he can be until his dying breath. He won't let something as minor as a mild disability stop him from his enjoying his life to the fullest
Alistair looked up with admiration
She wish she could be someone like him. Someone unbothered by the flaws they have, instead accepting it as a part of them and continued onward. He is always two steps ahead, while she is stuck here being obsessed with always doing everything the correct way and refusing to move on
But what Helen had said changed her mind
Perhaps the correct way does not always mean the right way to do it. The first step to improvement is realizing that not everything can be perfect, despite how much you try to improve them.
A smile spread across her face
Yes. What's most important is to chase after what you truly desire
....Perhaps it's time to start making her own choices and pursue her own dream, after all
"I know this is irrelevant, but where did that idiot hound go?"
"Oh, Murdoch is...back at the fortress"
"What is he doing there?"
"Stand Fight"
"...pardon?"

(Warning: The following paragraph was written when the author was smoking crack cocaine. As such it was written at 100% full retard capacity, so readers are advised to skip this if they don't want to lose half their brain cells)
No, really. You'll fucking regret it like how my mother regret ever birthing me
.
"ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA" Tachanka screamed, throwing out a barrage of punches powerful enough to tore the air around him apart, sending out shockwaves that blew the nearby objects back
Behind him, the visage of a mustached man in an old Russian military outfit could be seen standing there in a fighting pose, his fist hoisted in a boxing stance. If one look closely, they could see muscle bulging up from underneath his strange outfit
"GO, STALIN PLATINUM!"
"HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA HORA" Murdoch screamed back, countering the boy's attack with his own
Behind him, the visage of his Stand could be seen standing there with his arms crossed. An Austrian man with a swastika wristband attached to his sleeve, holding a rapier
"GO, SILVER CHARIOT!"
The two Stand roared as they charged at each other
Stalin sent out a barrage of punches, to which Silver Chariot (who had already shed his German armor) completely evaded. The knight-Stand twisted around, aiming it's rapier at the other Stand's forehead
CLANG
Blood spurted out from Tachanka's helmet as he staggered back. It was his defeat
OR SO Y'ALL THOUGHT!
From inside his steel helmet, The bear Grimm's eyes flashed a blood red shade
'All according to Keikaku'
Rapier is a weapon uses for thrusting. It's blade is flimsy, yet the point of impact is incredibly small, which creates for devastating piercing damage. That's why rapier master always relies on evasion and agility rather than brute strength to achieve victory, as that's the role it has been created for since the beginning
That means, once they had made their fatal thrust and have their guard down, Silver Chariot is at it's most vulnerable!
CRASH
Murdoch flew back and hit the wall, creating large spiderweb cracks on it. He spat out blood from the sheer impact of the strike
Stalin, meanwhile, had it's fist extended out, as if it had finished delivering an incredibly fast strike to it's opponent at a speed unseen to the normal eyes
"YOOOOOOOOO!"
"Did you see that shit, son!?"
"Fuck, did someone posted this on Instagram?!"
"'Two Grimms having a Stand Fight with each other', hashtag communism, hashtag gulag, hashtag not enough potatoes, hashtag is this a jojo reference with a question mark, hashtag the author is retarded...yep, they did"
"DAMN IT, DOKKAEBI!!"
They are standing on a stadium, surrounded by a crowd of Grimm-hybrid children shouting in excitement. Both of them are naked from the waist up, showing their slim, toned physique glistening with sweats in the room's light. Each of their punch impacted the other with bone-breaking force, yet neither of them backing down from their opponent
Tachanka staggered to the side, leaning on the railing of the ring to balance himself. He spat out blood from the slit of his helmet. Murdoch, meanwhile, is panting heavily from the blow he just received. He looked down, only to see his abdomen is covered in bruises
He grimaced in pain
A hound fighting a bear? It should be impossible under normal circumstances
Yet...this feeling rushing through his vein, it could not be anything more than pure excitement. Why is he feeling it, when all his senses are telling him to surrender?
"As expected of the Lord's trusted comrade, you are indeed stronger than I thought" Tachanka cracked his knuckle, a pleased aura emanating from him. The aura of someone who has the potential to reach unrivaled height beyond any mortal limit "Come, comrade, and prove your faith for his glory!"
His Stand, Stalin, cracked it's knuckles. A grin on it's muscled face, a grin that political prisoner would often see when they get sent to the Gulag
Something tell the people under the stadium that they probably won't have potatoes in a while, especially with the way he's grinning like that
'Yes'
That is because he hasn't had so much fun fighting someone ever since (Y/n)
Murdoch's eyes narrowed. Both of them rushed at each other and engaged in close combat again, this time with much more passion and enthusiasm exchanged in their blows
It's as if they had came to truly understand each other through their fist. Well, their Stand's fists that is
The children around them cheered. The female swooned with blushing faces and bleeding noses, while he male are busy screaming out encouragement for their Soviet Prophet with cups of vodka in their hands
"Come on, Cyka! Show them the Russian's pride. For the motherland, dammit!!"
"If you lose, no potatoes for you!"
"Mudak, channel your Russian Bear Ancestry power bullshit and finish him. I placed all my fucking money on you!"
"Come on people, place your bets here. Our Prophet Tachanka Joseph vs his challenger Murdoch Satan, also called the Sin of Wrath as they fought each other in a bloody Stand-off. Who will win their place as the right hand man of our lord and savior (Y/n) tonight?!"
As usual, Bandit is the one who started all this. Holding a microphone in his hand and a stack of cash in the other, he waved it to the excited crowd of children to hype the thing up further
"This is not what I had in mind when the Mistress told me to babysit you guys" Dr.Watts sat in the corner, his hands covering his face "Monopolized Grimm boxing? Only 14 and they're already like this. Youths these days are wild"
Beside him, Cinder patted the man's back
"You get used to it, Dr. Pedo"
"Stop calling me by that name, you little runt!" He screeched "And don't think I haven't forgot that little stunt you pulled with that brat in yesterday's training!"
"Hey, don't call Fuse a 'brat'. He's my buddy"
"Well girl, your 'buddy' ended up killing all the hostages in the room with those charges of his. As the commander of that operation, what do you have to say to yourself?"
"Your enemy can't kill the hostages if you kill them first" Cinder said with a smirk
"Kill who? The enemy or the hostages?"
"....Yes"
Dr. Watt facepalmed
"If you're going to continue with this attitude, I'll confiscate that cannon of yours"
Cinder gasped "What? No! This is (Y/n)'s gift to me"
"Hmmm.....Then I'll suppose I'll have to tell him what a naughty girl you've been in his absence"
The girl's eyes widened. She clapped her two hands together
"Dr. Watt! I'm really, really, really sorry. I swear I'll be a good girl from now on!" She pleaded, to which he narrowed his eyes
It's as if the cold, cocky girl from just a moment ago was gone, replaced with the visage of a worried child instead
Just how much does the young master means to her?
"Promise me that you won't toy with explosions inside this castle, or that you won't blow my lab up, or that you won't call me Dr. Pedo for that matter" The doctor warned "Also, promise me you'll dismantle that nuke you're building in your room. I said no explosive inside the castle"
She hesitated at the last part
What will (Y/n) say when he knows the girl he saved that day is now building a nuke inside his home?
"Promise!" She held out a pinky finger, he entwined it with his own and they shook it with serious looks on their faces
A moment passed, in which the manly grunt of Tachanka could still be heard on the other side of the room
"Now with that out of the way" He sighed in satisfaction "There is something The Mistress really want to talk to you about"
He took out two files from his vest and gave both to Cinder
Immediately her eyes turned cold once again. The girl's posture straightened like that of a soldier, a look of pure professionalism masked her face as she reached out, opening the folders and skimmed through them with eagle-keen eyes
"A long-term bodyguard mission?" Confusion crossed her eyes "Duration: Indefinite. Client: (Y/n) Lucifer, Son of the Mistress"
"Due to concerns about his safety, Mistress Salem has requested for you to be her son's personal guardian. As one of the best among the children here, not mentally of course, you have naturally been chosen to protect him"
"And protect him I will" She closed it "But it says here this is a solo mission. Why? Won't it be better to send our entire forces to (Y/n)? Even better yet, why don't you send that monster-"
She pointed at Tachanka, who just did an RKO on Murdoch in the center of the room
"-instead of me?"
The room yelled in fervent excitement as Murdoch did a counter-lock on the bear Grimm, but they paid it no mind
"Because the qualification for this mission is stealth, so a large number of you will only be an inconvenience" He leaned in "Although usually you're more on the destructive side of the conundrum, I know you're the best of the bunch when it comes to assassination, perhaps more than Marcus Black himself"
"Please don't compare me to that abusive A-hole. He is nothing but a talentless trash taking pleasure from tormenting those weaker than him" She whispered, before smiling "His son, on the other hand, is actually more skilled than you'd think"
"Then you're free to recruit him if you want. You have an obnoxious habits of picking 'stray cats' on the street, right?"
"I have an eye for potential, Doctor. That's all I can say about it" She said "Still, if the Lady wishes me to do this alone, then I have no complaint"
"The problem is this" She raised the second folder
"Project Hellsing, led by the Hellsing organization" She waited for an explanation "What are they?"
"They are the one behind those experiments with the Grimm-Hybrids back in Atlas, also affiliated with Doctor Evil, who I'm sure you can still remember" The doctor explained "I used to work with them in the past. A bunch of unsavory characters, I tell you"
"Their goal is to create the perfect combination between Grimm and men, mind-control them through some means, then rule the world with their army. It's short, simple, and to the point, something which I can definitely relate to" He shrugged
"The organization do this by secretly hiring rogue scientists or bribing current scientists to work for them. These researchers will be provided with live samples extracted from outside to do experiments on. Breeding for the mature one, and mutation or genetic alteration on the younger ones"
"The 'live samples', in this case, are you and your brethren of course. You have the body of a Grimm, but intelligence of a human. For them, you are the most priceless thing they could get their hands on" He eyed the girl, observing her reaction
There was none
"How is this related to the mission?"
Ah. Professional down to the very core, he like that
"They are after your master, (Y/n), who they believe could be the key factor to their goal"
"Why? For all I know, my Lord's just a Grimm. Unless he is a Human hybrid like us, I fail to see why he would aroused their interests that much"
"Classified"
"Understood. So I'll have to watch out for them. Anything more?"
He pulled out another file
"This is for Tachanka and the rest of your squadron"
"As you may or may not know, there are still Grimm-Hybrid out there. They are either untrained, unaware, and unprepared for the hunt they're about to experienced, or they're already abducted and being experimented on as we speak" He said
"Their mission will be rescuing/recruiting these children and train them into elite soldiers, one that can surpass your average Huntsman. By doing this, they'll expand the number of the young master's followers, as well as his manpower by many time"
"In other word: (Y/n)'s own assassin organization that worships him" She smirked "I'm sure he will be ecstatic when he hear about it"
"Yes he will" Dr. Watt paused "And Cinder, there are several individuals after him that is completely out of your league. If you encounter them in battle, just make sure to drag it out as long as possible. You may not survive, but the young Master will have a higher chance of survival"
"And those people are?"
"A Fox named Alistair, a Slime named Helen, a Succubi named Evelynn, a Snake named Pestonya, a Dragon called Vali" He pointed at Murdoch in the corner "And our friend there too, though I doubt he'd be interested in harming our young master anytime soon"

Back at Menagerie
"Ah....." The porter was silent "Sir....This is a pirate ship"
I looked at the Morningstar, then looked back to him
"No shit"
He looked dazed for a moment, then shook his head "It doesn't matter. Your docking fee will be 50 Lien, sir"
"I don't think there's a need for that"
I snapped my finger
There was a rumble, followed by the ship slowly sinking back into the ocean, creating bubbles along the surface and sending light waves splashing up the shore. Since it follows my command, I can practically tell it to do anything I want
Snap. Cannons fired. Snap. Full sails opened. Snap. Presence concealed. Just like an extension of yourself, a mere thought is enough for it to take action
The man simply stared at the scene with a blank look in his eyes
Ding!
You have caused a person to have enough of your bullshit! 300 EXP received
Soon enough, all that's left is just the calming water surface of the sea, as if it hadn't even been there in the first place
He sputtered in shock
"I...I...you....just get out of here" I snickered
"Oh cheer up, this is 100 Lien for you. Sorry for the inconvenience, but your face was worth it though" I said, handing him the money I pulled from my inventory
"Wha-where did that money come from?"
I covered my hand
"I killed the Pirate King Gangplank in a duel and earned it as a reward. It was back in Atlas when I was still a wanted criminal being hunted by the military with a 32,000,000 bounty on my head and I started drinking in a pub when he suddenly started a fight with me, which then caused me to cut off his head and made other criminals work as the crew on my ship in order to escape form the government sent after us, which coincidentally also resulted in us sinking 200 other warships sent by the military unintentionally, which also resulted in a large cargo ship from the SDC accidentally being eaten by my ship in the process, which, funnily enough, also resulted in miscellaneous things happening along the way really"
I scratched my head embarrassedly while saying that
Needless to say, it was not something you should ever be proud about
In response to my answer, the guy raised his eyebrows, before snorting audibly
"That's not what I mean, but cool story bro"
"It sure is"
Phew. I almost gave myself out there. Glad he didn't know about my Inventory
"All right. Let's go, Matsuo, Carmine?" I called out to my remaining crew
Silence
Oh wait. They were supposed to be inside the ship on my order
.....The ship
.....
I'm sure they'll survive, those two are strong after all
Ding!

I sighed, swiping the notification window away from my view. I'm already level 98 now, only two more levels and I should evolve soon. That's why I have to look for somewhere to rest for now until the whole process is complete
Humming a jaunty tune, (Y/n) set his foot into this new island, ready to explore every nook and cranny of it for himself

Author's Note: The story below is not related to the Grim, it's merely the concept of a story I came up with several months ago and gave up writing after a few tries, mainly due to the fact that I possessed zero knowledge regarding WW1 history, or WW1 weaponry for that matter
So, I thought 'why not post this here so anyone interested can adopt it?'

The scent of blood filled the sky, etching my nose with a painful sensation as I sucked in a sharp breath. My lungs burned in torturous agony as I hastily tore off my gas mask, gasping and choking from all the chemical that lingered in the air
I blindly reached out. In the darkness of the trenches, I kicked out my comrade's corpses from underneath me. Once Jamie has been a man, now he is just a bag of meat. Nothing more and nothing less
Let's just hope this meat will make us last for a day longer. I'm getting sick of eating rats here anyway, like literally sick. Some of my frontline companion has already been struck down by rat-fever just yesterday, and I don't want to end up like them
Welcome to the battlefield. I know this may not seems like it, but this is the only place where we can call home now
Picking up a dropped rifle from the ground, I checked it's catridge - Unstuck, dry from the ice rain and fully loaded - Still in good condition, passable as a weapon. My own gun ran out of ammunition a long time ago, laying scattered across the ground not far from my location
A violent cough tore through my throat. immediately, I brought up a hand to cover my mouth in case the enemy can hear me from over the trenches. My instinct told me to keep it quiet. even though our trenches are hundreds of meters apart from each other
There's no need to be risky, there has been stories about a sniper whose hearing is so good that he could spot the rustling of clothes from over a mile away. War veterans sent back to Atlas has also told similar tales like that, too
A sharp pain flashed across my abdomen
I don't need to look down to know the open wound on my stomach was bleeding again. A stray bullet, took it in place of a careless rookie who have no idea how to hide from the enemy's line of sight
My hand reached down to my waist, and I discreetly pulled the pin on my grenade, before strapping it on my chest
There's no use staying alive anymore. In a few more minutes, my wound will widen and get worse, and I will be dead
My family is dead
All my friends are dead
The only thing I could do right now is to die a soldier's death. Fight on the battlefield, until his last breath, and doing so to protect his country
I could finally....be useful for once
With a roar, a sudden strength seems to have surged inside me. I ran out there, into the No man's land, screaming like someone who has lost his mind
The enemy's firepower whipped past my head at an alarming speed, yet I do not care. I put all my remaining power to my foot and run, and run, and run, my eyes remaining shut as I did so
I raised my rifle up and released my own bullets in return. Faintly, I could hear the sound of someone screaming in pain, most likely he had been hit
As twisted as it sound, the enemy's frenzy only served to embolden me even more
It doesn't matter if I die here, I'll take all of them with me!
In a moment of stupidity, I had thought I stood a chance of victory against them
It was then, there was a flash in the distance. The signature flash of a sniper's scope, glistening in the silvery moonlight
All the courage inside me seems to be drained away
That's right, how could I have forgot about him? The sniper who I have been trying to avoid up until now, the one who brought all this misery upon us
A sense of hopelessness descend upon me as I remembered he's the one who single-handedly took down 500 of us in just the first few months of deployment here
Even as the bullet penetrated through my head, one single thought still inside my mind
If the (Y/n) the Ghost himself is here, why did we even think we had a chance of winning in the first place?
.
.
.
This is a prompt/story request of my own, because I was bored. Let's see which one of you ingenious writers can make a story out of this
Saga of (Y/n) the Ghost, inspired by, as you guessed it, Youjo Senki, about an ex-war veteran from Earth reincarnated into the world of Remnant when he peacefully died in his sleep at the age of 112
Oh boy, reincarnation into a world full of badass beautiful girls. Who wouldn't want that?
Only there is a problem
He got reincarnated 82 years before Canon, which is also when the Great War began. A war where destruction and death run amok, marked as one of the darkest periods in the entirety of Remnant's history to ever graced humanity
So he'll have to do what a soldier do best
"On the battlefield, there is no room for right and wrong. He who pull the trigger first is the winner, nothing more and nothing less"
He is (Y/n) (L/n), and he does not exist
.
THE IMAGES BELOW MOST DEFINITELY DID NOT INSPIRE ME TO WRITE IT!
