Author's Note: This isn't exactly a real chapter or something like that, only a, as the title said, sidestory of the main plot line, told from the perspective of another character.
I have quite the fun writing this. Please comment if you'd like me to write anymore sidestory, and which character's perspective you'd like to see more of in the comment section. With that said, Enjoy!

"Ouch, hot hot hot hot!"
The passerby next to the road turned to look at a woman standing in the shade of Patch's port. Most of them turned back to what they're doing, with the other joining them a dew moments later. That's because they already know who she is. The woman who just yelled is probably the best Huntress in this entire island
Said woman, one Summer Rose, is currently smothering her burned hand with a slight wince on her face. At a glance, you'd assume she had accidentally touched one of those heated steel bar that prevents people from falling over the sea
Since it's currently a sunny day in Vale, such an event would not be unusual. After all, we all know that feeling when you touched something that's been left under the sun for too long. That burning sensation, and if you're unfortunate enough, a sizzling sound would be heard as you makes contact with it. What comes after, well, you already know...
But that wasn't the case with Summer Rose here. She is a fully-trained Huntress with her Aura unlocked. Such things won't even be able to catch her attention
What she was doing is simply a test
After her supposed 'successful' mission, Ozpin'd generously given her a long break from work so she can have some time with her kids. This is a good opportunity for Summer to learn about her newly given power
Steams started rising up as her burned hand slowly healed itself. Summer sighed
"So silver is my weakness, huh? Oh the irony..."
As a child, Summer is often fascinated with fairy tales and old legends of Remnant, her favorite being the tale of the Seven Deadly Sins and the Two Brothers. She somehow always imagined those two to held some truth to them, but grew out of it as she got older
One of the tales she'd often hear about is one of the undead creatures
Undead. Ghouls. Zombies. Creatures that lurk in the night, preying on the flesh of the living to fulfill their eternal hunger. Creatures that are not of the living, but also not of the dead, an abomination of nature that defy the grand cycle of reincarnation. Creatures that by all rights should not exist on this planet
And apparently she is one of them. A vampire to be exact. She wasn't born as one, she was turned into one, by her Master. He conquered her in battle, drank all of her blood and replaced them with his own, effectively bonding her to him for forever.
It was a blissful feeling, being turned by him. His merciless eyes, the roughness in which he pinned her to the wall...Seeing your life being slowly sucked out of your body could never have felt better
Summer slapped her cheeks, pulling herself out of her fantasies. She mentally scolded herself for doing that while still on her mission. Master would be disappointed with her
She was given a mission, a duty, a responsibility, or whatever you call it, of returning here and pretend that nothing happened, and she's going to complete it
And yeah, to the original point. Summer has been turned into a vampire, and it seems that she's weak to silver like every other one usually depicted in the story. At least she can walk under the sunlight with her cloaks on. It was a bit annoying, but it'll help her to say unsuspicious
Now, since she has the weakness of a typical vampire, let's see if she can use their power as well
#1 test: Shadow Form
Summer slowly walked backward into the shadow casted by the building behind her. As her back touched the wall, she suddenly found herself fading into the shade.
The woman yelled out to see if anyone notice her. Some people looked around in confusion, but get back to work after several seconds had passed
She smiled from a shadow as another idea came to her
'What if I use this along with my Semblance?'
Teleportation. Unlike Raven, she could teleport anytime and anywhere she likes, as long as it's in sighting distance, Summer is confident she could reach it. That's how she always got an advantage over her opponents, they can't win against someone whom they can't even hit
Still blending in the shade, Summer teleported to another building in front of her. This time she found out that she's still in her shadow form, completely unnoticed by everyone
'Fuck the Invisibility Cloak, this is what I called absolute stealth" She thought with a grin
As long as there are dim-lit areas around, the enemies won't be able to see her until it's too late
Summer thanked her Master for gifting her with such kick-ass powers. Her loyalty toward him would have increased if it wasn't maxed out already
And now, onto the next test

#6 Night Vision (Active)

#9 Cookie Vulnerability (Heavy)
As night fell upon the island of Patches, Summer finally finished conducting her test. Now walking home, she started to think about things, things that you'd usually think about when walking home in the night
As far as her race as a lesser vampire goes, that's some seriously useful abilities they possesses. She could quite technically beat an entire team of Huntsman with no effort. That is confidence speaking, not arrogance
If only there's someone for her to test it against, that would help a lot
Summer stopped as she sensed something following her, an unnatural smile appeared on her face as she realized what it is
"I am the shadow, trying to hide in it is useless against me"
From the bushes surrounding her, a dozen of glowing red eyes glared back at Summer, several primal growls sounded at the same time as a response to her statement. Out from the darkness of the trees stepped out a pack of Beowolves, all baring their fangs at the vampire
"That's more like it" Summer looked around "So...who's first?"
All of them pounced at once
Summer glanced at them with an amused face. A red blade appeared in her hand, glowing with dark energy
SWOOSH!
And just like that, all of them are killed at once, just like how they'd attacked her
The other Grimms whimpered as she turned her head to look at them with that same smile still on her face. Just moments ago, this human seems like a normal and harmless one with no ability to defend herself. They now realized just how wrong they have been
In just a matter of seconds the table has been flipped, the roles has been switched. They realized, as an unfamiliar emotion rose inside their stomach, that they are no longer the predatorsShe took one step forward
They took one step backward
She took another step forward
They took another one backward
And then she vanished
They took a step backward on instinct, but realized she wasn't there. Their back suddenly touched something, and they turned around to see Summer behind them with that sweet smile on her face
The night was filled with the sounds of her innocent laughter along with pained howls. In the end, all that remained of the Beowolves were a pile of corpses, abd standing in the middle of it is Summer, her blade dripping with bloof
#8 Shadow Blade (Active)
Another power has been added to the list
"How anti-dramatic" She sighed "As I thought, Master truly is the strongest Beowolf out there"
She looked at the star-lit sky, not noticing the raven that flew away from the treetops
<><><><><><><><>
Flying away as fast as she could, there's only one emotion that is currently running through Raven's entire body
Fear
She should have noticed it sooner, about how Summer was acting out of place when she just returned from the mission. She should have noticed it sooner, when Summer tried to avoid walking in the sunlight, something that she always like to do. She should have noticed it sooner, when Summer started talking to herself about someone called 'Master'. But she didn't
And now, Raven Branwen realized that's not her friend Summer Rose anymore. The girl she knew in Beacon is gone, replaced by...whatever that thing is
She doesn't intend to report this to Ozpin. What the dark-haired woman is trying to do right now is to get the hell out of the forest as fast as possible. She somehow has got the feeling that 'Summer' had sensed her
Woosh
A gentle sound, one that sent shivers down her spine and into her very soul as she realized what's happening
Raven tried to flap her wings but to no avail. The woman looked up to see Summer gazing down at her with an amused expression, her hands gently holding the little raven by it's rib, preventing her to fly further
"Well, Raven. What are you doing here?" She asked in her sweetest voice, one that made Raven wants to vomit due to how familiar it was to the original Summer
In a flash, the woman changed into her human form. Kicking Summer in the stomach, she flew back to create distance between them
Normally Summer wasn't the tankiest in their team. A kick like that from her would make even Tai winced in pain, but to her surprise the silver-eyed Huntress didn't seems to be affected. Grinning madly, she charged at Raven with her two crimson long sword glowing black
Clang
Their swords met in a violent clash. Steel for steel, both of them tried to overpower each other. Summer twisted her sword and deflected the Daichi away, leaving Raven open for an attack
Raven leaned back, a portal opened behind her, one that leads to Summer. She teleported on top of her friend, swinging the sword at her head
Clang
...Only for her surprise attack to be blocked by Summer's second sword. Losing the advantage, the female Branwen found herself being thrown over her shoulder Judo-styled by her shorter friend
She landed with a 'thud' against the ground. Before Raven can recover, she found a sword being held at her throat
"My my, I didn't expect my best friend to be so strong" Summer remarked, her silver eyes glowing under her hood "Have you been praticing?"
"No, but let's say Ozpin's given me a new power" She spat "One that forced me to abandon my family at that"
"Eh?"
Summer blinked as she felt an immense surge of power from her friend. Realization than hit her harder than truck-kun hit the reader at the beginning of the series
'She's a Maiden'?'
Before she can react, Raven pushed the blade away and punched her in the gut, sending her back several meters. She doesn't choke, that's only human reflexes, but there's a dull pain at the spot where she'd been hit
She looked up to see Raven standing there with her two glowing eyes, the trademark characteristic of a Maiden. The woman is now holding her Daichi in a samurai stance, ready to attack
This isn't exactly a part of the plan. Master had told her to keep his identity and the fact that she's a vampire as a secret, if Raven were to survive and open her mouth to Ozpin about this matter, He won't be pleased
But she can't exactly kill her either. Doing that would likely draw suspicion from everyone around her, and Summer's vulnerable facade might be even more broken than ever
Stating it like that. There's only one choice that she can take, that is to turn Raven into a vampire as well
But wait, the first night in Patch and Summer already have a meeting with the Spring Maiden as her friend. Could it be that Master has already thought about this?
A smile curled on her lips, even as the ground beneath her practically exploded
"As expected of my Master, the strongest of the Grimms. Everything has been a part of your calculation from the start"
A black aura started enveloping her swords
"As your servant, it is my duty to fulfill your every desire and lives up to your expectation"
The grounds beneath her own feet shattered as Summer unleashed the power of her silver eyes
"If you also want the Spring Maiden as your servant, then so be it!"
The entire mountain range exploded, caused by the shockwaves that is created as their swords collided with each other
