Author's Note: Just a small question, what kind of Grimm do you think the Seven Deadly Sins is, and what their abilities are. It would be nice if I can hear your thought
<><><><><><><>
I woke up in the middle of the night, with the sound of screaming around me
Well, it's not the best wake up call I've had
My first instinct is to look for the other to to see if they're hurt. My worries were proved unnecessary, however. As I looked to the other side of the room, my subordinates were still there, still in their human form
Murdoch is standing beside the window with his face pressed against the cold glass, a grin plastered on his face, while Alistair is standing behind him with a bored expression, her arms crossed
I walked up to them with a curiosity. Alistair turned around at the sound of my footstep, while Murdoch is still glueing his face to the window, apparently more interested in what's happening down there
"Alright you two, just what happened here?"
"Boss, you're awake" Murdoch finally turned to me, and I could see excitement in his eyes. You know it's bad when something make Murdoch excited, especially when it involve someone screaming like that
I walked to the window. Alistair and him respectfully stand to the side, allowing me to take a look at what's going on below
It wasn't pretty
Blood. Blood everywhere. Men were shouting, children were crying, women were screaming. Their shadows etched onto the wall, which was stained with dry blood. In the distance, a howl could be heard. A Beowolf ran up to them with their claw flashing.
Squish
The screaming stopped. The shadows disappeared. Corpses remained. More blood were stained on the wall
I walked to the other side of the room to see more. Behind the window. I can see the view of the village square
The village is burning
Chaos is everywhere, the smell of corpses and blood hung in the atmosphere, like a thick curtain draping over the sky
The square was packed with people, people who thought they could find strength in number, that they could fight back the monster together. All they did was making the Beowolf's job easier.
The monsters began mowing through them like cattle. More and more Grimm gathered at the square to join the killing feast, their bloodlust at it's peak
The villagers, realizing their mistake, tried to get out, but it was already too late by then. Their exit was blocked by waves after waves of Grimm, all thirsting for their blood
It's obvious that the village is being attacked by Grimm
Normal people would have felt alarmed by this, but me? I also felt something, but it's not fear. It's the exact opposite of that
Seeing the fear on their faces, the despair in their eyes, knowing that they and their family are going to be slaughtered, I shuddered
It was simply mesmerizing
This is even better than what I'd imagined from Dante's 'Inferno'. This...this is true hell! The faces they make, those expression of theirs...I's like I'm looking at a piece of art in the making, a masterpiece!
Huh
Am I getting a mental boner?
I shook my head, just what the hell am I thinking there? Ugh, I think we were supposed to do something in this situation, but what?
We could, of course, go by the [Isekai Hero] route and save everyone, then get hailed as a hero by them, and finally established my own harem. But I didn't see the benefit in that, and there are several drawbacks considering our identity as well, so that option is a no-no
On the other hand, we could choose the [We don't give a Fuck] route and held a tea party while listening to the background music of people being slaughtered outside, because there can be nothing classier than that
But like the first route, there's no benefit to gain from this, and several drawbacks as well, mostly because we don't have tea, and the fact that slaughtered people isn't exactly my favorite kind of music, too high-pitch for my taste. I'd prefer if it was children who were singing
These two options are considerably bad for our incognito (or in the second case, we'll be chased out if someone were to find out). Luckily, there's the third option...
BANG
The door shook violently before it crashed down, revealing a Beowolf standing there, it bared it's fang and attacked me
SQUISH
Or it would have, had my two subordinates not moved behind the Beowolf. In one swift simultaneous movement, Alistair sliced it's head off, while Murdoch punched a hole in it's heart
...We could do the [Genocide] route, killing both human and Grimm alike, so we can earn some sweet EXP and unlocked new skills. It doesn't matter who the enemy is, we'll just kill them all is the basis of it
(From what I just said, you could already imagine what champion I main in League of Legends)
Hey, don't look at me with those eyes. I never told you I'm a good person
"Alistair, Murdoch. Let's go" I said, baring my fang
"It's time for us to join the server"
<><><><><><><>
Splat splat splat splat splat
I ran theough the street, massacring as many Grimm as I can with a shit-eating grin on my face, before throwing myself into an alley so they wouldn't find me
After leaving the inn, we've decided to split up with Alistair and Murdoch to the West side of the town while I go to the East, that way all of us can get some time to let loose our steam, and possibly gain more experience. I've told Alistair to cancel the illusion, so now we are in our true form: A wolf, a fox, and a hound Grimm, all of us on the hunt for ourselves
Now I'm currently at the Eastern side of the town, just as planned. And I'm killing Beowolves left and right. Killing, but not eating because of special reason
A peculiar thing I noticed about the Beowolves is that they usually move by packs, each packs consists of about 2 dozen members or so, and leading it is an Alpha
That means, even if I attack and attempt to eat only one of them, I would also turn on the nearby Beowolf's aggro (gamer speak), causing them to attack me. So in a sense, I would have to lessen their number as well
You know what?
That's perfectly fine
"Hey fuckhead!" The Beowolf turned it's head, only for me to slapped it across the face, sending it's upper body flying from the sheer force alone
(Damn, I bitch-slapped this motherfucker so hard half of his body went flying, talk about being OP)
The Beowolf's lower body staggered and before it could fall, I grabbed one of it's leg and ripped out a piece of meat using my jar
You have learned [Voracious]: Allows you to eat more than your bodyweight with faster speed
Before I could fist pump in victory, I found myself being jumped by 8 more Beowolves of the same size, meaning the Alpha isn't here, yet
Good thing I was prepared huh?
My [360 Degree Vision] and [Greater Detection] allows me to gain a passive semi-omniscience sense of those within a certain range near me. Of course, following RPG logic, these skills could be negated if you have a Rogue job class specialized in stealth and avoid being detected, but we're talking about normie Beowolves here. Their growls were so loud that I could hear them before I even sensed them
Anyway, these guys are dead meat
(A/n: Mild Endgame spoiler)
[Instant Kill Mode Activated]
8 spider legs protruded out my back, each of them impaled a Beowolf. The Grimm struggled and thrashed around, before finally going still, slumping down while still hanging from my spider legs
With a shrug of my new appendage, one of the carcass fell into my hand. Instead of biting it, I opened my mouth wide and swallowed the thing whole, before gulping it down, I didn't gaged, it just feels like drinking water to me, natural as it should be
One by one, I keep swallowing them at a steady rate, until the previous Beowolves are all gone
You have learned [Survival Instinct]: Gives you a higher chance of dodging a fatal blow
You have learned [Menacing Eyes]: Allow you to intimidate weaker enemies
You have leveled up!
Huh, now I see why the other two can eat so fast, they must clearly have this ability in their arsenal. Just imagine punching someone, expecting them to dodge or blocked your strike, only for the person to open their mouth and bite off your hand cleanly
It brings the phrase "eat this!" To another whole new level
As I was pondering that, I didn't noticed the Grimm in my vicinity haven't attacked me, or that every noise on the street has been quelled onto silence, with only the clacking of boots against the stone pavements could be heard
It wasn't until the Grimm starts running that I noticed something is wrong. They pushed through me, not even acknowledging me as a threat compared to what they're running from. Soon enough, I was standing there quite alone and confused as to what it is
It couldn't be Murdoch or Alistair since they are on the other side of the town. But since the Grimm were afraid of this person, he or she must be on the same level as then
The clacking grew louder and louder, echoing on the empty street, until a figure appeared, casting it's shadows around the corner in an ominous way. The figure walked out from the alley, and to the middle if the street
We were now facing each other. My eyes widened as the flickering flames flared up, revealing one Summer Rose staring back at me coldly
"So, you're the one who kills these people?" She said, indicating the corpses lining up in the street
No, i don't. I mean...I'm planning to, but the other guys just did it before I can
Was what I tried to tell her. Sadly, without Alistair's illusion, I am completely unable to speak human languages. As such, all that came out of my mouth was a deep growl, causing Summer's eyes to narrowed
The situation has just turned from bad to worse
"You know" Her hands clenched tightly "This place makes Vodka of the best quality, and the people here is friendly too, but it's mainly the vodka that I came here. And now, and now...you just have to destroy it. I'll never forgive you..."
Two blood red longswords appeared in her hands
"GIVE ME BACK THE VODKA" With a scream, Summer kicked the ground beneath her, breaking them in the process, and propelled herself forward at a terrifying speed, her silver eyes blazing in the dark
At this moment, my mind has been reduced to a fight or flight mess, instinct is all that remained here. And if you know what kind of Beowolf I am, you know what option I'll choose
There's no way I can back down from a fight, not one like this
"CYKA BLYAT!" I gave my own war cry as my claws and her sword clashed with each other
<><><><><><><>
Alistair's POV
BOOM
The sound drew both Murdoch and my attention from the fighting before us. My ears twitched in irritation at the sudden and loud noise, being a sensor has it's ups and downs, and I've gotten used to most of the downs. Most of them
I swear if anyone were to scream into my ears, I would pull out their vocal cord and shove it so far up their anus they'll be essentially be screaming their ass out, not that anyone would do it anyway. Boss was always gentle when speaking with us, and I'm sure Murdoch has enough IQ in his dog brain not to do that near me
Sidestepping the charging Beowold, I decapitated it with a flick of my hand, careful not to let a drop of blood landed on my body. It's not as graceful as my father, but it's less flashier
"Just what is that?" As the Grimm fell to the ground, Murdoch spoke up beside me, still looking at where the explosion came from
"I don't know" I replied "But it seems like Boss is fighting someone, probably one as strong as him"
"Should we go and help him?"
"No, I have complete faith in our boss. He's strong, far stronger than Grimm of our own age. If you don't remember, the last time we were sparring he beat the shit out of us, and we're considered to be the strongest of our generation, that should tell you enough about his combat prowess"
"I- you're right" He opened his mouth, only to close it moments later as he realized I had a point. Boss is incredibly strong, even if they were to rush there and help him, all I and him could do is to become dead weight, or worse, getting killed by the opponent he's fighting with
Wait, could it be that's the reason he told us to split from the start, so that we won't have to face his opponent? I wouldn't put it past him. In fact, it's entirely possible that the events transpiring from then until now has been within the scope of his plan, if you considers his intelligence... No, of course he can't
Right from the start when we met him, Boss'd already formulated a plan for us to get stronger. He taught us about human culture while still in the cave, he makes us hunt strong animals by ourselves, just so we could be prepared for his next step
When he told us that we'll go to the nearby village, I knew he has a plan, only that I can't grasp it at the time. The bandit and the illusion has shed some light on his grand plan, but the rest still remained in the darkness. No matter how hard I try, I just can't put myself to the same level as him
Please forgive me, someone as incompetent as me do not deserve to be your subordiante
But at the least, we'll try our best to complete his plan, and get stronger so that one day we could be worthy of serving him
"Come, Murdoch. Boss'd told us we had to eat more in order to get stronger huh?"
"Yeah, so?"
"So..." I grinned "Let's stuff ourselves with human meat! Maybe this inferior specie still has their uses after all"
[Alistair] had leveled up!
