Author's Note: Hello everyone, today on another episode of "Thien, not this shit again", I have tried my hand on a new story
A story that absolutely no one asks for!
It's a Kimetsu no Yaiba fic with Gamer elements in it. Since apparently not many people had done this before I delegated myself to the duty. Aren't I such a nice guy?

The thing with reincarnation in another world is...you never know how much of a bitch it is until you've experienced it yourself
Oh cool. Having the Gamer power bestowed upon you like your average self-insert from another world, then going on an epic adventure and gain epic skills and establish an epic harem like you're Male Chad Thundercock Reader himself is epic.
It would have been epic for me too, If it wasn't or these three facts
One. I am reincarnated as a naked baby
Two. I am reincarnated in the middle of the forest in a winter storm
Three. I am reincarnated in the middle of a pack of starving wolves
Yeah. Real shit
As I looked at them, only one thought crossed my mind
Don't worry, me. This is probably just a dream
If I close my eyes, they can't hurt me, right?
...
Right?
The wolves lunged forward
<><><><><><><>
So the bad news is, I died in the first ten seconds since I awoke here, being torn to shred by a pack of animals
The good news is, I lived
The storm raged on around me as I remembered dying to them. Slowly, I looked down to see that I'm completely fine. I then gazed back up at the confused wolves who's staring down at where I used to be
I see. So either time rewind itself or I've just been resurrected
This is real after all
My hand started shaking
"Mother...fucker!" Using my little baby fists, I proceed to slam it into the wolf's jaw and crushed its cheekbones with my knuckle, spraying blood and saliva in the air
The animal howled in pain. The next thing I saw it already lunged forward and bit my baby head off
I opened my eyes to be greeted with the exposed back of the wolf who'd just eaten me
"I'm going to feed you your own intestine" I muttered darkly, approaching from behind and pummel the leader of the pack into the ground with a sharp rock. Without waiting for it to recover, I leap forward with a roar
Skull bones and mushy brain parts spattered to the white snow as I struck down on its head again. With a scream, I smashed the rock down one final time, completely killing it
The other wolves hounded on me. Once again chunks of my body parts flew into the air as I got ripped apart by their fangs
But I lived
As I tore my way outside from the wolf that was eating me, some of them started backing away in fear. They ran, to which I gave chase to them with almost animalistic instinct driving me
The male ones all tried to get in my way to protect their pregnant females and young ones. My visions turned dark as they simultaneously rip at me from all sides
But then I lived
Grabbing one of them, I snapped the wolf's neck with my hand. I threw the dead body aside and snatch another by the jaw before ripping him in half. Another one stalked forward, only to cower at my gaze
With my body covered in wolf's blood and organs, I calmly walked toward the terrified animals. The younger wolves trembled in despair
Their howls echoed in the valley, only to be drowned out by the sound of torn flesh and dying whimpers moments later
<><><><><><><><>
My fatigued panting was drowned out by the storm around me. Everything was deafening, all that surrounds me are the white of snow and the red of blood.
Let it be said that I am confused. Of course I am. I just got yeeted into the middle of nowhere with a bunch of hostile mob and discover I am a child and that I am immortal and then I lost control and proceed to kill the animals including the young ones and now I am feeling incredibly guilty over it. Just...what the hell is going on?
Several floating orbs of light caused my attention to turn back to the wolf's carcass. I walked back to them to inspect their corpses. My eyes soon widened
Wait...
Are they...
Soul: Grey Wolf (x8)
[Reap]
[Free]
[Consumes]
There's no mistaken about it. This is a deceased soul. This is the main way of leveling up in the game...my game. Now I know why this is familiar
To become stronger, and to determine one's path, you must choose what to do with your victim's soul.
[Reap] them to learn new powers as a Shinigami
[Consume] them to enhance your abilities as a Demon
[Free] them to earn your place as a Sage
How?
What?
Many questions ran through my mind. But the more I had, the more confused I am. In the end I only opted to try one of them
I opened my jaw and chomped down on the animal's soul. There was no taste, but a part of me started changing from the inside the instant I gulped them down
It was a strange feeling. For a moment my blood boiled with something unpleasant, but it left as quick as when it appeared. Along with that a rush of power accompanied me
You have chose to [Consume] their souls
The path of chaos welcomes you...
Ding!
[Killing Intent] (E) had been learnt
- Your presence cause others severe discomfort. For those of the weakminded, the fear can cause them to be temporarily paralyzed
- Enemies are staggered for 20% longer
Rank E, that would be the lowest level possible. If I remember right, the order is EX > A > B > C > D > E, so there may come many level ups in the future if I use them frequently
<><><><><><>
So, you could say my first few moments on this world isn't exactly the best, especially with how much certain scenarios could have played out different to my liking. But at least I start this with some handy resources
Since I was naked, I skinned the wolves with a rock to make clothing for my body
I then cut up the meat and put it in a skin pouch for storage, while putting snow in another one for them to melt into water
I then made a check of myself. Right now I looks like to be four to five years old, though my malnourished state suggests me to actually be seven, possibly older depending on the state of this previous body
I'm too calm about this aren't I...
Honestly, being reincarnated in this setting isn't that bad. Where there's a will, there's a way. Nothing should go wrong as long as I am optimistic, my outburst when coming here notwithstanding
I could have been in an anime. I could have had to take up arms and fight in a war. God forbid, said war could have been one against demons. I'm so thankful that wasn't the case with me!
Congratulation. You have been reincarnated in the world of [Kimetsu No Yaiba]
Huh...
Right, thinking time. I am reincarnated in the series with the gamer power. So what do I do?
Do I try to eliminate the demon and make this world a better place? Do I try to save people who died in Canon? Do I strive for a good ending, or should I get a grasp on my situation before deciding first? I don't even know if I was reborn in the right time anymore. Perhaps at this time Gonpachiro hadn't been a Demon Slayer yet
Even with this power, it'll not be easy to take on every Demon Moons by myself
What then? Do I have to go on an adventure of my own where I rescue the characters that originally died in Canon? I mulled the question over. It was worth a try, bur first I'll have to join the Corp first, but that would mean my action can potentially influence the manga. More seriously characters won't be inteoduced and made friends with each other if I was in the middle of it
There are simply too many variables to speak off
My gaze turned toward the snowy horizon, where the evening sun was setting its final course across the sky
Honestly, I don't know. I am more focused on getting out of this forest before nightfall so I won't have to face a demon than planning to do anything with the plot
<><><><><><><>
Ah, of course you'd be wondering about me and how it lead to this
Let me introduce myself
My name is (Y/n) (L/n). I am an average teenager who studies coding and is aspiring to be a video game designer once I leave college. I love games, especially RPG considering the wide variety of options that can be added in such a genre, and had always held a strange love for them ever since I was young
To summarize, I am an indie game developerp
The day I died, I am walking home from one of the testing of my project. An inconsequentially named game that I've been working on all day. It also, coincidentally, revolve around demon slaying and have to do with some aspect of Asian mythology
The game's main theme was feudal Japan, heavily inspired by similar titles like Sekiro and Ghost of Tsushima. An RPG with a basic system of fighting, branching skill trees and diverse enemies I've took days of programming to get done. You play as an undead who either becomes a Shinigami, a Demon, or a Sage depending on the path you choose on your journey
It was midnight back then. The street was dark, so I made sure to turn on my phone's flashlight and obeyed the rule of looking both way before crossing. Seeing that no vehicle is in sight, I took my first step to the empty road-
And the next moment, a truck dropped from the sky and killed me
"..."
So yeah, that's how I came here. I'm not sure what circumstances lead to my death, but that's not a story I want to hear anytime soon
Although...how I came to possess the system from the game I designed is still a mystery to me. Indicated from the middle text formation and the You Died screen, I seems to be in a similar state as my character when first starting the game
"What Skills does I have?"
[Resurrection] (EX)
- Devil, Death God, Savior. No matter which path you chose, only an undying fate will accompany you through this jouney
- When your HP dropped to zero, you can be infinitely revived at your nearest save point with all your equipment intact
No save location available. Current data set as temporary save point
[Spirit Sight] (EX)
- A connection to the Far Worlds. Your eyes can peer through the barrier between life and death toward whatever lies beyond
- Allow you to interact with souls and permanently killing them
Hm. And now a basic RPG concept had just accidentally turned me immortal. Why do I feel like I'll have to be wary of Muzan from now on?
Let's see. [Status]
(Y/n) (L/n)
Souls reaped: 0
Souls consumed: 8
Souls freed: 0
In game, the souls are used as both a currency and a consumable. True to that, the more souls I absorb or slay, the stronger I get.
In another world as a Shinigami demon
Sounds like the title of a shitty fanfic if you ask me
<><><><><><><>
Pushing on through the snow, I could feel my body becoming colder from the raging snow storm around me.
It's been several days since I've started heading North. In that time I've emptied my food and died of starvation or cold multiple times. Thankfully, every time I was respawned my body became fully functional once again. Ever since then I've found myself able to walk on by committing suicide every time I lost stamina as it saves me the trouble
Isn't it funny that death is starting to become a convenience for me?
Or a better question yet...When will I find a goddamn village?
I contemplated killing myself to restore my body warmth for another time, but then my eyes caught sight of a single flickering light in the distance
Its too few and too little to be a settlement. A single house. Most likely the house of a person who lives alone
Approaching ever closer, yes it appears to be a shack of some sort. A traditional Japanese with antique architect style and woodsman tools sitting just outside its entrance
I hesitantly raised my hands and knocked. What's the worst thing that could happen anyway?
There was a heavy creak as someone's footstep can be heard loitering inside. The metal latched inside was flicked off, allowing the door to open.
Soon enough, a man answered the door
Seeing me, he seems to pause. Language body indicates he is assessing the person in front of him with extreme scrutiny
"Oh, a child wearing wolf skin? Where are your parents?"
It's not the man I thought I would never need to meet in this universe
"You look cold. Come in and sit by the fire" He is speaking in Japanese, but for some reason I'm able to understand him
Through his red iconic Tengu mask, Sakonji Urokodaki kindly ushered me inside. The former Water Pillar looks younger with less grey hair compared to his Canon counterpart, which means the timeline I'm in is years before the story takes place
"So, my name is Sakonji Urokodaki, a woodsman who gets money by chopping trees around the forest. Who are you? Where are your parents?"
It only took me a moment to realize why this old man let me in so easily, and why he is speaking to me like that
I glanced back at my body. That's right, I'm supposed to only look like a three year old at this point. It's best to act my part nicely without drawing suspicion from him
"I'm (Y/n) (L/n). Dad and Mom is..." I tilted my head "Don't know..."
"I see, and where did you came from?"
"Outside" I blinked at him innocently "Where else?"
"No, that's not- Oh, I get it...I guess you're still too young to properly remember" He shook his head "But I can't just kick him out now. There's a storm outside. He'll freeze to death. Maybe I can..." A few more silent muttering could be heard before the old man came to a decision
"I know, let's stay here with me until the midwinter passed. Then we can go out and find your parents. Since you're here that means they must be close, right?"
I'm not exactly sure about that...maybe I can go out and find another settlement?
I looked out at the raging wind outside, back at the crackling fireplace warming my feet, then remembered about the biting cold I've felt out there. Plan aborted, it seems
I only nodded, to which the old man let out a sigh of relief at me not throwing a tantrum
It's not like I know how to do that anyway
<><><><><><><><><>
As several weeks went by, the storm had lessened somewhat. That allows Sakonji to go outside and tried to find my nonexistent parents as promised
Of course, it yields no results. The old man came home looking quite stressed out as that would mean they are either far away or they had been killed. Both of these would mean I currently don't have anywhere else to go
It was honestly hilarious how he tried to explain the concept of death to a kid like me
"Then I'll have to bid you goodbye" I got up from the wooden plank I'm sitting on and made for the wolf coat I had, but he stopped me just as I got to the door
"Wait, what? And what are you, a three year old child, think he's going?"
"I'm four years old" I corrected "And as you'd said you went and didn't find my parent. This means I either find them or stay here and hope they find me. You'd already helped me by giving me shelters from the storm, so I don't want to intrude upon your home more than I already did"
"Nonsense, I'm not as cold-hearted as to throw you out there all alone. It's nightfall, what if you get caught by a dem-" He shut up at my disbelieving face
"Sakonji-san. Are you just about to say demon"
"No"
I crossed my arm and raised an eyebrow
"I believe I'm having what you would call a Bruh moment. You weren't supposed to know that" he sighed in defeat "Yes, (Y/n), I'm just about to say demon. They exists. They had been for a long time now"
I pretend to mull over the information
"Judging from the sword you like to keep in your private shack, you're a kind of person who combats them. A demon slayer"
"I can't hide anything from you, can I?"
I shook my head. The old man looked at me with something akin to being impressed at my intelligence
"And why are you telling me this instead of trying to cover it up?"
"One, you're too sharp to be lied to. Two, you deserve to know after living with me for a long time now. Three, I believe it is because of a demon that your parents never came for you" He nodded his head solemnly "The day I met you, you were covered in blood and had obviously been running in the snow for hours. No sane person would do that unless they've gotten attacked by them"
I blinked
Sakonji didn't know it, but he had already created a perfect background for me. Something that can logically qualify my existence here in a normal way. I can use this to my advantage
"I don't remember much of what happened" I frowned, gazing at the fire with a distant gaze in my eyes "My last memory is that of blood. I only saw blood everywhere, and the feeling of running through the snow while something is chasing behind me. Your explanation fit with that"
The best choice for a reincarnated person to explain their origin. Cut ties with pre-existing factors that may hinder their progress. Remains oblivious under the pretense of being amnesiac. And the best thing about this is that you can act out of character with almost no one noticing it
"I see. Then now that you know about how you came here, what do you think about staying at my house until you're old enough to go alone?"
"That sounds fine. I hope I'm not intruding"
"Oh no, (Y/n). You won't be a bother at all"
