Disclaimer: This is written by a guy who does not play Bloodborne, so from a gameplay and lore perspective I'm effectively blind. Deviants and alternative changes may take place here, either intentional or completely by mistake
Please forgive any slight inconsistency you saw on here. I've already written five chapters in and it'd pain me to dismantle it. That said, major mistakes should be pointed out so I can fix it in future chapters

The night, and the dream, were long
White lilies swayed in the wind as they breezed through them. A flash, and the flowers were cleanly severed from their roots by upturned gale created from their movement
Two figures fought under the moonlight. Scythes and swords clashed against each other in a dance of deadly steel, creating sparks of fire as they separated off each other. A dance of two people who had mastered their body to inhuman limit.
"What is it?" The old man smirked, landing on the flowerbed with gracefulness unbefitting of his age "Is it the Dream, or the Hunt?"
The silent Hunter closed the gap between them. Soon enough they were locked in mortal combat once again. Their forms nothing but unseen blurs. Their shadows reflecting off every time they separated, only to disappear as the two clashed again. And again. And again. They moved with speed, precision and grace, knowing full well a single mistake would lead to death
A sword impaled through his stomach. Gehrman used the chance to parry with his Blunderbuss, stabbing his hand in the Hunter's abdomen and ripping it off, spraying blood over the white lilies around them
His opponent shrugged it off as though it was nothing, ripping his own blade out in return and kicked him back. They are once again at a stalemate, staring each other down from a distance
Faster, stronger, more ruthless than any Hunters he'd seen in the Dream. The form of a natural predator
Oh that gaze.
That he know.
The only one to have found the Eldritch truth. Liberation from his wild curiosity
Even an honest death wouldn't cure him now
The Hunter twisted around. Their Chikage dripping with dark blood as they lacerated his shoulder. Gehrman brought his scythe down in retaliation, only to realize too late that that's what his opponent had ben aiming for
A shot rang out. He was on his knee stunned from the perfect counter-parry. His body is shaking in exhaustion, while the other Hunter had barely broken off a sweat
A testament to the difference of strength between them
The Burial Blade left his hand as it flew through the air, landing at his opponent's feet
"Well, what are you waiting for" The old man gasped out "Liberate me from this Dream. That's what you want, isn't it?"
The Hunter walked over, and Gehrman had a glimpse at his face. Nobility feature, more suitable a knight than a hunter. One could only guess the reason to his descent into madness
He closed his eyes. The night, and the dream, were long
"May you find your worth in the waking world" The Burial Blade clicked as his opponent switched it into a scythe. He slowly raised his blade, stained with blood of a hundred before him "...Master Gehrman"
The scythe descended. Thus, the First Hunter died with a smile on his face, finally at peace after many years
And just as the host died, the Nightmare descended. The Hunter gazed impassively at the looming Presence before him, before taking out a severed Umbilical Cord and put it in his mouth, devouring it whole
A denial. A declaration of war
The Great One let out a sanity-shattering shriek as it lunged at him
Up above, the Red Moon bore witness to the final climax of the night
