CLANG CLANG CLANG
Blades met blades. Steel met steels. Two men of the Church clashed against each other as their Black Keys groaned under pressure.
Small sparks of fire were produced every time they came into contact, an indication to the strength and precision behind the hands that wield them
Kirei throw. He countered. Kirei struck. He blocked. Every movement was made within the span of a split second, each of them masterfully manipulating their opponent into a corner
Yet one was steadily being pushed backward
Kirei's foot shot up, evaded by Walter who tilted his head unnoticeably to the side. The man twisted around, striking him in the backside with consecutive strikes that aimed to rupture the other's organs
Three blasts of mana exploded forward, launching the young Executor's reinforced body crashing to the wall. He coughed out a mouthful of blood, before flipping himself forward on his feet, balancing himself in the split second it took for his opponent to cross the distance between them and initiated both in a blade-lock
The wind rippled, and Kirei stumbled in its wake, allowing his opponent to sweep forward and continued with a blitz strike that shattered his defense in moments
The Black Keys soared through the air, only to be caught between his hands, nearly buckling over in doing so. The earth trembled beneath him as he held off the immense pressure behind the strike
The exchange of blows was halted when he opened his mouth
"Why did you not bring out your strings?"
"Come on now, priest Kotomine" The man, Walter replied with humor "Did you not look under you?"
His eyes flickered down. Thin, transparent string wrapping around his legs gleamed, bounding him tightly in place.
With a twist of my foot, I kicked him back. Six Black Keys appeared in my hand as I launched them at him
Even with Reinforced strikes, Kirei only managed to deflect four of them from their trajectory before the remaining two pinned him to the wall by the cuff of his sleeves, embedding the tied man down to the wall. Such execution of accuracy would have been impossible by human standard. But to (Y/n), it was nothing exceptional
Kirei is certainly skilled, yes
But compared to Ciel, he's still lacking in many aspects
Unlike her, he doesn't have the Iron Plate techniques. He doesn't have Servant-level parameters, nor does he have the high regeneration power that came with being immortal under Gaia's influence
Which is why he went down so easily, even when I had all 5 restraints put on me
"I believe that's enough training in the morning" I inclined my head at the priest whose emotionless face continue to gaze at me "Now I feel completely awake. Thank you"
He only nodded
Seeing the butler's retreating form exiting out of sight, he reached for the phone on the table
After several seconds of standing, he dialed a number and waited for the other person to pick up
"Kirei?"
"Yes, father" He stoically said "There's something I would like to discuss with you"
"Well speak, my child" Risei patiently waited
"About the next Holy Grail war, I think there's someone who can help us..."
<><><><><><><><><>
"Ah, good morning Mr Dornez!"
"Good morning Walter!"
"Walter, exercising so soon in the morning eh?"
The staff of the house greeted me as I walked down the hallway
My eyebrows narrowed in confusion
It's been several days since I came here and start working as the "babysitter" to the two Tohsaka children
In that time, I've been making contact with the manor's staff here. I try not to interact with them as much as possible since the skill [Charisma] had been maxed out once. The last time I truly communicate with some people, they had looked at me like one would look at the second coming of Jesus Christ
Gazes like that make me feel uncomfortable. I want to be held in high regards, not worshipped like a walking deity
But aside from my duty acting as the one in temporary charge of this place, I've been strengthening myself a great deal
It is in my belief that no matter how strong I am, there are still beings out there that could defeat me with ease. To that end, it's not a bad thing if I were to use it just a little, right?
For having engaged in close combat, you have unlocked several perks
[Absolute Evasion]
- As long as the enemy's Agility stat is below yours, all of their attacks won't be able to land on your body
[Absolute Precision]
- If the enemy's Agility is below EX-rank, all of your attacks are guaranteed to hit them
[Absolute Offense]
- As long as the enemy's Endurance stat is lower than your Strength, all of your attacks are guaranteed to kill them in one hit
[Absolute Defense]
- As long as the enemy's Strength is lower than your Endurance, their attack damage is automatically nullified
[Counter Unit] had been maxed out
- When fighting against any given hostile unit, their parameters save for Luck is reduced by one rank
I flexed my arm, before picking up a nearby piece of trash and aimed it at the trashcan at the other end of the hallway. Without consideration, I tossed it behind me
I flexed my arm, before picking up a nearby piece of trash and aimed it at the trashcan at the other end of the hallway. Without consideration, I tossed it behind me
In the normal sense of physic, such a throw would surely miss. Not only is the target in the opposite direction of my throw, but its distance is also too far with the amount of force applied to said action. From another person's perspective, there's no way it can hit the target
However, with [Absolute Precision], things take a turn for the different
Like Cu Chulainn's Noble Phantasm, the perk reverses the causality effects of events to make it so that any attack made by me, no matter how impossible it is, will never miss
The spear has been thrown, thus it pierced the heart
The heart had been pierced, thus the spear must have been thrown
By alteration of causes and effects, one could determine the result of virtually any events before it's happening. That's the meaning of absolution. The ultimate outcome of an action, no matter how many times it had been changed beforehand
"Omae Wa Mou Shindeiru"
The crumbled up ball of paper turned into a streak of energy midair and twisted in its trajectory. It bolted forward, leaving a gust of wind behind as it passed through me and impacted against the trashcan
The throw just then is only a formality, for at the moment the piece of junk left my hand, it had already ended up in it's intended target
Sighing, I continued on my merry way as a humble Magus who just love to have a peaceful life in this world
This will suffice for now.

"You're late"
I automatically spun on my heel, dodging the little girl's drop kick from above
"My apologies" I smiled, head facing backward "Priest Kotomine have shown an interest to spar with me this morning. I could not, in good conscience, deny him on the spot"
The girl opened her mouth, only to instantly shut up as I turned around. A smoking dish of delicacies in my hand
"Also, here is your breakfast"
Her nose twitched as it temporarily loosened. The slackened, unfocused look of a child who tasted drugs for the first time fits on the heiress's face
"H-hmph! I supposed such trivial blunders can be forgiven if you'd learn your lesson"
Rin's hand blurred, her agility nearly rivaling an Assassin Servant as she snatched the plate from my hand with unnatural gracefulness
"How has your progress been?" I walked further into the room, taking in the extravagant nature of it. Gold-decorated ceiling, with jewels embedded upon different corners of the room. All of them served as Mystic Codes in disguise that provides a partial defense in case of an intruder in the room
Rin's only reply was a grunt as she shoved the food down her mouth
Laying on her bed was the familiar blueprint of Zelretch's Jewel Sword. Different papers scattered across it. Some of them crumbled up, some still had notes of incomprehensible characters written on it
Seriously. Did she have such a hard time analyzing something so simple?
"I'm afraid the homework's too hard for me" Behind me, Rin sighed, placing the now empty plate on her desk "At most, I'd need a year to do a complete observation on its surface"
"Why?"
"The Kaleidoscope phenomenon relies on the refraction of multiple sources from parallel timelines. Tracing each and every one of them back to their origin would take a long time, if not forever due to its infinite operational possibilities made by Zelretch's travel between worlds" There was a certain hint of bitterness in her voice
I tilted my head, but eventually relented
"Well, I supposed you're still a child after all. Just take your time inspecting it all you want"
Unknown to him, Rin balled her hands into fists as the fury in her eyes flickered. Not at Walter's words, but at her own inadequacy for failing what he had
She knew better than to take his words with a grain of salt. If this man who had helped her achieve a breakthrough on the first day of his tutelage said that it's easy, he must be telling the truth
It's simply proof of her cluelessness regarding the subject that is her undoing
Her mind worked at optimal efficiency as she began rifling through researches again, hands glowing as the little girl cast analysis spells one after another
"If you want, I can help you with it" I offered
"No. I'm going to do it myself"
(Y/n) stood there confused at the little girl's sudden enthusiasm, but chose to ignore it in favor of taking out the leftover breakfast and left the room

"Sakura"
Papers scrawled on the ground, depicting complex mathematic formulas and real-life drawings of flowers scattered across the empty room.
Unlike her sister's, Sakura's room is plain, with almost no extra decoration saves for the bare necessities: A bed, a desk, and a bookshelf with barely any books on it. The ceiling, as well as the walls were a dull white, signifying to this room having been used as nothing more than storage before
Due to her element with Imaginary Numbers, the younger Tohsaka is incredibly efficient in Math. Some testing done by me reveal she could actually solve college-level equations in a matter of seconds
Just recently I sneaked her into a nearby library so she can use the computer where I get to familiarize the little girl with standard stuff. I then asked her to infiltrate the Russian government's main algorithm to get their nuclear launch codes as homework for her first lesson
The girl did that in minutes without revealing our IP address. Some test bombing in America later revealed the thing to be the real deal
Is this how the Sakura in Fate/Extra was able to free herself? By hacking her own data, decoding her existence, and became an AI independent from the Moon Cell's influence? Imaginary elements are overpowered if you think about it
"Are you done yet?"
"Hm-hm" She smiled and walked up to me, a piece of paper in her hand "Answers to the previous lesson's homework. All seven of them"
I scanned over all of them, before subtly wincing
Yup. I concluded. Sakura would definitely be considered a first-class genius among the non-magic part of society today
"Very well" I set the tray of food down the table, reminding myself to give her a motivational reward later "Would you like to eat first, or start our studying lesson now?"
The girl's eyes widened as the tempting aroma of the god's food entered her nose, temporarily blinding her vision and showed her to a world full of appetizing pleasure. Sweet. Sour. Creamy. Ripe. All the heavenly taste that could be experienced by no mortal presented them
"...." He didn't say anything, merely gesturing to the food as though telling her to enjoy herself
She hastily dug in, yet still mindful enough not to appear too unsavory in front of Walter
Meanwhile, I walked up to her table and peered at the piece of paper on it. Pens and brushes were left scattered across its surface, rolling out of the way when I picked it up
"I see you have taken a liking to art"
Smiling in amusement, I traced my hand across the thin fabric of the paper, over the intricate lines that depict a flower in the middle of it's blooming
A small amount of magical energy poured out from my hand and into the painting
Instantly, the picture came to life. The flower, which had been stilled just then, became animated. Its petals opened in full, showing the radiant beauty of a sakura flower in it's glory
It isn't simply an animation spell being taken into effect, it is the concept of "Life" blooming inside that drawing itself. With changes, came effects. With effects, come betterment. A cycle of prosperity and trials. The beauty of life and death
The flower in the picture, after having achieved its full glory, began to rot away. Its petals dropped one by one as the plant bent to one side. All semblance of greenness gone, now what remained is only an empty husk with no life in it
However, under its root, another seed has been sowed. The start of a new cycle
Imaginary Numbers. That which is not possible in the physical world
Blooming and Wilting. The false creation of life and death
Such things are incredibly complex to grasp on the first try, but it is ultimately the thing that made up of BB the Moon Cancer's power, and to an extension her progenitor as well
"You have worked well" I complimented as I head patted Sakura, eliciting an embarrassed blush from said girl "However, there are still need for improvements"
I took the sakura drawing she'd made and folded it diagonally
"It's true that the concept of "life" and "death" means you can imbue them into any given object in an imaginary space" I started folding the paper a little bit more, shifting the paper to one side
"However, imaginary doesn't necessarily mean it can not be projected into reality, merely that it can not interact with normal magecraft due to their incompatibility" And another fold "Remember what I've told you. Instead of straight-up projecting the Imaginary Numbers, it's better to use a solid vessel as the conduit for her Origins instead"
With the final crease, the Origami was completed
"Now, channel your Od into this paper crane and imbue it with the concept of Life"
Her finger touched upon the paper construct, only to reel back when it come into motion
The bird's wings cranked open. It's head raised up, before it took flight. The paper bird's form leaped from my hand and soared through the air, it's wings flapping furiously in the excitement of its freedom
Yet before it can fully complete another wingspan, Birdy stopped in the middle of it's flight and plummet to the ground
"....Well, that is unfortunate"
The girl flinched as his demeanor turned contemplative
"I-I'm sorry Walter, I'll promise to do better" She pleaded "Just give me another chance"
(Y/n) blinked
Why does Sakura sounds so scared over a failed experiment?
"Relax, Miss Sakura. Failure is nothing to be ashamed of, for it is only through trials and errors will you find a way to better yourself" I smiled "Now, instead of apologizing, how about you revise your previous attempt and try to figure out what went wrong?"
"Yes. Thank you Sensei"
I blinked at that
"Did you just call me Sensei?"
"You are both teaching me and my sister in Magecraft. Wouldn't it only be appropriate I call you that? "
A chuckle escaped my lip. It's a tired one, because I'm already used to it at this point
For some reason, every female I've met thus far always assume me to be someone that I'm not, despite my insistence otherwise
"No, I'm not" I smiled "I'm not teaching you. I'm merely supporting you in your practice by giving instructions from time to time. I'm sure many others could have done better at this job than me"
I hesitated, before slowly raising my hand and patted her on the head
"Despite what it would suggest, I am only a third-rated Magus in the Clock Tower, and was not very well-respected among the Magi populace" I stood up and picked up the empty plate from the desk "Those of your family would never approve of me teaching you"
<><><><><><><><>
"I'm sure many others could have done better at this job than me"
'Nobody could have done it better than you' Sakura thought, gazing at the butler's form as he closed the door behind him 'Nobody'
His kindness toward a failure like her, smiling in encouragement every time she struggled.
His patience after each of her blunder. Neither lashing out with punishments nor taunting jeers.
His equal treatment of the siblings, improving on their individual strength rather than giving preferential treatment to one of them
"Those of your family would never approve of me teaching you"
Walter look so tired when he said that, as though he's already used to the fact long ago
For the first time ever since their meeting. A protective feeling rose up inside her
'What do they know?' She clenched her hand, before unfurling them in frustration 'It's not fair. A person like him doesn't deserve it'
Yet she doesn't know what to do. Her position as a spare doesn't make her voice in the house that important. No matter how much Sakura wants to change it, change the way people look at him, she knows she couldn't do so as she is now
Alone and frustrated, she could do nothing more but sullenly practice on the technique Walter had demonstrated for her
<><><><><><><><><><>
"Weird" My face twitched "That's not supposed to happen"
Hm...I wonder just where did it go wrong? For some reason, the girls have begun treating me with actual respect now
No, it's not like I don't appreciate it. I just don't understand what I did that earned me the sentiment from them.
In the end, the little girl could only focus for another hour or two before giving up, thoughts about the butler's words filling her mind
While it's true that I am content to change the timeline as it is, it is akin to a rabbit hole. The deeper I got in, the harder it is to walk back out. As such, I only aimed for changes that would not involve me in the spotlight
With the two of them recognizing me as their teacher, that's going to make it a little bit harder to escape people's notice in the future
But maaaa~ They're only little girls. Both of them will forget about me in time, that I'm sure
"Penny for your thoughts?"
The little girl's voice broke me out of my thought. I gazed at the house's highest rooftop, where the moonlight shone upon the lithe figure of one Altrouge Brunestud.
"I'm thinking about things that aren't other's business"
"What a boorish reply. I am just trying to make some light conversation"
"Apparently that didn't go well the last time you want to "make some light conversation" with me" I dryly replied
She jumped down, the umbrella somehow in her hands slowing her descend enough for her to land without much trouble. Her dress fluttering in the wind as she did so
"Where's Fou?"
"He's busy....searching for a certain Wizard" She shivered "The Dick Wizard"
I didn't miss the way the Vampire's hand seems to pressed against her crotch in caution, though the lack of a bulge greatly relieved me
"I'm not going to ask anything" I sighed "But why is it that I'm seeing you again?"
"Well, the situation in Misaki town recently has been quite hectic without you. The amount of Dead Apostles and Ghouls wandering near the area had increased exponentially for unknown reasons" Altrouge hummed "Given their numbers, it's most likely the work of another Ancestor like me"
"And you guess is?"
"Louvre" Was the instant reply "Only that fool would be arrogant enough to risk exposing our races to the public. My guess is that he'd come to challenge who so easily took down his predecessors"
I sighed
"...And...let me guess...You want me to take him down before he could cause further harm to the inhabitant there, because it's my fault this happened"
"It's your choice" Shrugging, the princess sat on the ground "Honestly, I am just the messenger when it comes to these sorts of things. As their leader, I hold no obligation to partake in the meddling of my brethren, merely to warn them of what's about to come"
"I guess so" I grunted ""
Her words died in the True Ancestor's throat as a pitch-black sniper rifle appeared in (Y/n)'s hand.
He raised his other hand, where a hot red flame was ignited, from inside that flame burst out...
A Noble Phantasm
Even the Ancestor was stunned, as she could feel the power radiating from the sword. With one swing of that thing, entire hills would be flattened to dust. There's no mistaking the identity of that thing
"Caladbolg" the Spiral sword of the hero Fergus
Her eyes narrowed. It's extremely rare for a Magus to possess an actual, functioning item like this. For one thing, they're extremely rare among modern times. For another, most of them require a great amount of magical energy to activate, such is the reason why items of such caliber are considered sacred to one's research
If (Y/n)'s family possess one like this, that would make them on par with the reclusive Fragarach within the Association, thus denying his claim about being an average Magus in the first place
Yet what the boy did next almost made her choke on air
"Thinning of material, condensing object's core for maximum power output"
The spiral sword slowly slimmed down until it resembles a small iron pellet with a spiral tip, to which I loaded it in my rifle
Impossible
Did he...just turn a Noble Phantasm into a fucking bullet?
"Reinforcing object's properties"
Magic runes appear on the gun's surface, adding to its durability and the explosive power behind it
"I am the trigger of my gun"
I raised the sniper rifle, it's black color in contrast to the moonlight above us
"No, wait, stop!" Altrouge waved her hand, the composed expression from before shattered to reveal incredulity "Are you going to snipe him all the way from here?"
"Bullets in my body. Gunpowder in my blood"
My grip snaked along the gun's handle. My breath gradually stilled as the mana in the air began vibrating with excitement
"Never known to miss, nor known to falter"
The gun began thrumming, power coursing through its metallic veins
"Have withstood sleepless nights for fate of the hunted"
One single shot
The ground cracked under my feet
"Yet my purpose will always stay true"
My finger settled on the trigger.
"So as I aim..."
My chant ended just as they condensed into a single point in the fabric of space and time
"Nine Bullets Lost Work. Commence"
The firearm roared to life
The streak of blinding blue light flashed across the horizon
"Oh fuck that's a Noble Phantasm"
<><><><><><><><><>
The Ancestor blinked
"OH FUCK THAT'S A NOBLE PHANTASM-"
The crowd of Dead Apostles and Ghouls roared. Under their rotting mind, a primal fear surfaced as the light grows brighter
Fear not of death. Fear of overwhelming power that scorches the earth and melts away the flesh just by standing in its presence
The world around him exploded out with brilliant blue lights. The ethereal energy incinerating everything around its radius into nothing more than pieces of charred ashes. Hills crushed under the pressure, forming large craters on the ground
Energy erupted. Sparks of lightning traveled hundreds of meters outward in moments. Arcs of flame lashed out from inside at every lifeform near it. From under, purple pillars of lights pierced through the cloudless sky like a roar to the heaven.
The elemental menace is a force of nature. Unstoppable. Unblockable. Unavoidable. A colored myriad of death itself
As the deafeningly loud explosion died down, leaving a ringing sound in its wake, all that's left behind is the ruined remains of a plain and no corpse to be found
No armies escaped
No lord survived
Only annihilation prevailed
The nearby Executors lowered their blades in confusion. Fear apparent in their eyes
Louvre, Dead Apostle of the Lake, Tenth seat of the Ancestors had been killed
We waited for a few seconds, before I turned to her
<><><><><><><><><>
"Yeah, Louvre's dead"
The Dead Apostle Ancestor only frowned. Her disconnection with the other Ancestor already proved his claim
"He's in Misaki town. That's a hundred and seventy miles away" She growled, the previous composure lost on the shocking ability he'd just displayed "Just how far can you shoot that thing?"
That question got me thinking
When I maxed out [True Weapon Mastery], the maximum range for my sniping ability was on the other side of the planet
But now with [Absolute Precision], I can hit anything in my sight, and given that I can also Reinforce my eyes to see pretty far away, I'd say my range is...
"Within the solar system" I shrugged "Maybe a little bit farther, give or take"
I'm sure an average Archer-class Servant would have done better than me
Seeing the contemplative frown on his face, the Ancestor couldn't help but shiver
"Just what are you, Walter....no...(Y/n) (L/n)...?"
I raised my eyebrow at the obvious question
"An average Magus. I thought you already know that"
Only then did Altrouge mentally called out the claim like what she felt it truly is
Fucking Bullshit
