Seventh Lunar Month (June): Boon Samha (Cleansing Ritual Festival)
The Boon Samha tradition originated in the past during a time of widespread illness and food shortages. In response, villagers invited the Buddha to perform chants to drive away evil spirits. During the ceremony, a heavy rainstorm occurred, washing away dirt and disease from the town.
Since then, the community has upheld this tradition of spiritual and physical cleansing—known as Boon Samha—as a way to purify the town and protect it from misfortune.
