Boon Khao Jee is a traditional merit-making ceremony held during the cold season. In the early morning, villagers gather around a fire to stay warm and grill khao jee together.
Khao jee is sticky rice that is steamed, formed into round patties, and coated with egg or salt. Sometimes, a sweet version is made by adding a sugarcane paste filling. The rice patties are grilled until fragrant and golden, then offered to monks as a form of merit-making.

This forest monastery has a long history, established in 1928 (B.E. 2471) by a group of meditation monks who were disciples of Luang Pu Mun Phurithatto. The temple serves as a central meditation center for the Vipassana tradition in northeastern Thailand. It is also the residence of Luang Pu Boonpeng Kappako, a renowned meditation master in the Vipassana lineage.

This museum presents the history and development of Thai currency, with a special focus on the northeastern region of Thailand. It is located on Klang Mueang Road, Nai Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang Khon Kaen District. The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (closed on Mondays and public holidays). Admission fees are 50 baht for adults and 20 baht for children aged 10–18 years.
