Diffraction

Observing from far beyond your sanity,
You’ve caught me in loops of lifelessness,
As we run in circles, trying to find the beginning.
Crossing the threshold into the unfamiliar,
And tracing the jaw of the unknown,
you’ve overstayed your welcome.
Bound to your doorstep, you hover,
Imaginary chains draped over every inch of your being.
What dusty fates we have been reduced to,
A happy ending, reflected in a pool of need.
I put together this poem using my favorite lines from other poems that I had written, I tried to piece them together in a way that would tell some sort of story, but also that would be abstract enough for the reader to interpret in their own way.
This piece is a reflection of the chaos of emotions I have experienced during quarantine. Even though I have settled into a mundane routine at home, I still long for the freedom to enjoy activities outside in the world, without the fear of my health.
