The Mathar Empire is a feudalistic empire  that grew from the city state of  Mathar. Its people worship Amma, the mother goddess who is believed to have birthed the world. The empire is ruled by a line of Empresses said to be descended from the original founder and builder of the great city.

The Empire is steeped in history, tradition, study and mysticsm. Most religions are tolerated if the devotees bend the knee to the Royal family first and foremost. The empire is looking to expand its influence to the neighbouring islands both to the south in the Levastath and to the east in the Da'torran way.

The Mathar Empire is also the first realm in history to employ Shadewalkers, as soldiers and protectors of the peace.
