Let's start off the Preseason Previews with the Metro Magic. Of course, the Metro Magic are the reigning champions, after they took down the Eastern Eagles in one of the greatest World Series to ever happen. With that being said, the Magic still have work to do, as they want to be known as an all time franchise. With the Magic declining their draft pick, the exact same roster is running it back, hoping to grab another championship.
Current Roster:
Grant Miller
RJ Walgate
Trevor Bonham
Jack Aigner
AJ Ackerman
Jordan Kurdi
This roster is pretty great, although I would not say looks like much of a championship roster. Of course you have Grant Miller, who hit .483 AVG with a .712 OBP. He was just a rookie as well, as now the former number 1 overall pick is looking for his first MVP season of his likely long career. He already has a Silver Slugger award as well as a Rookie of the Year trophy, to go along with his World Series victory. RJ Walgate, the ace, was also a rookie last year. In his time, he played 9 games, and had a 1.07 ERA, winning the Cy Young. His sidekick, Bonham, had a great year as well, finishing with a 1.50 ERA. To fill out the rest of their lineup, they have World Series MVP AJ Ackerman, who completely changed his play when it mattered most. If he is able to play near that level, the Magic are a sure contender. Lastly, Jordan Kurdi, who was forced to take a backup role in the World Series, but is still a player who can give some minutes if needed.
In my opinion, this is a top team in the league. With phenomenal pitching, the likely MVP favorite, and some great depth and experience, they should be the top team in the American League, and should finish with around 11 to 12 wins.
