1: Visual Texture: "Realistify" or Subversive
Option A. "Realistify" Drawings!
Make a drawing come to life with the addition of textures in Photoshop! Your prompts are "kid art creatures", (your own or actual kid drawings). The requirement is that the textures you use must be used as overlays to the drawing, not elements of the drawing itself. You can find more textures and royalty free photos at Pixabay.
Option B. Subversive Texture Swap!
Choose an image and change its material and texture (you can use the textures in the videos, but use an original photo). You can find other high-resolution textures and royalty free photos at Pixabay.
2: Actual Texture
Option A: Foil Embossing Hint: If you use printmaking ink (i.e: block printing ink) instead of shoe polish it will dry and be workable afterwards. You can then spray on a matte varnish as a final protective layer.
(optional embossed metal tape, polished sculpture, or color tutorial here)
Option B: Paper Popping: This project requires thick paper or corrugated cardboard and pins and X-Acto blades. You can do a combination of pinhole popping and Leah removal or addition on whatever material you choose. The cardboard art is made by cutting off the top layer of corrugated cardboard to reveal the inner layer, and adding some color. You will often see these done with elaborate portraits of celebrities, such as in the work of Giles Oldershaw.
