Emanations

Heheh they gave an onion pants

Side quest!

Spent the weekend in New Paltz! It was lovely to see Miles. I ate a lot of meat, which I have been trying not to do, but it was really delicious. I don't regret it at all. We went up to Minnewaska state park (see figure 7.1 and 7.2)! Next time we are going to go further and see the Broom Crowberry and the ice caves, but this time we were tired and it started to rain. The drive home in the rain, without being able to see anything, was terrifying.

I'm pretty happy about the recent local politics. Mamdani seems legitimately like he wants to do good. We're getting an affordable train line from NYC to Albany! this is the thing i am honestly most excited for Sharon Owens seems good also. I don't know that she'll be anything revolutionary for Syracuse (at lease in terms of policy) but that isn't always what is needed. As far as I can tell her positions are all good. I need to call and talk to my grandfather about the current situation, the last political conversation we had was too full of sighs.

At a higher level, all seems fucked still. Government shutdown is over (in a material sense, I am happy about this - it gives people some more food and furloughs are over) but the payoff is essentially another huge republican win and a shit budget. Blegh.

This week I baked bread (see figure 6.1) and made venison stew. YUMMMM. On Friday Emily and I made French toast. Then, Molly and Emily and Jason and I went to the BUSH party. It was pretty fun, but I felt much more self conscious than normal. I kind of care what the gay people think of me more I guess. I danced for the glory of prom king (very silly) to Judas. I was disappointed in the men's dancing, the women definitely showed us up. As always, lesbians > gays. Ari said I was a winner in his heart though so I think I'll take it.

OK! It's been a minute since I've updated my site (1 week exactly). Last Saturday, I planted trees with Dr. Catherine Landis and some folks from the Onondaga nation. This was super fun. Later on, I made the bread pictured below (figure 5.1, 5.2) while studying for the Organic Chemistry exam (Terrible experience). I got a bad score on that exam, but it seems like even the chemistry oriented people did somewhat so I don't feel terrible about myself.

Contra dancing is my favorite. I love contra dancing (see figure 4.1 and 4.2). I made good bread, but sliced open my hand like something from Nappy's EMT shows on the bread knife (it wasn't actually that bad it just looked like a lot of blood). I got complimented by the old women on my dancing and my baking, so basically I couldn't be happier.

Also, Kate is the goat and spun me around like nobody's business. I had so much fun and I want to be her friend.

Afterwards, we watched Rocky Horror Picture Show. What a sexy movie! I had not considered the concept of aliens being freaky like that.

Happy Halloween! My roommate did not take their laundry out of the drier and I did not think to check. Now, my room is a spiders web of clotheslines. In the center, the fat spider, who ate too many gummy peach rings. Also, a whole lot of lasagna (see figure 3.1), I am sure lasagna is not that impressive of a dish to make, but to me this lasagna was the greatest thing I've ever achieved. A week or two ago, I had a spinach and mushroom lasagna from the Gateway Cafe at ESF, thinking it would soothe my craving for spanakopita. Since then, I have desired nothing else. This week I went thrifting with Molly for some good gnome outfits (figures 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5). Unfortunately, Shredfield was LAME AS HELL I really think they need to explode that DJ. Bless them for letting me in for $5, I cannot believe some people probably dished out $30 for that. I'm more interested in live music in the future, or finding some good hardcore raves maybe. Curious about Funk N Waffles too! I had a lot of fun stomping in the mud with Molly (figure 3.6) (though I disgraced my Stormwater and Erosion Control Certification). The prude in the cowboy outfit that got caught in our splash zone can stay malding. There were some cool people who we danced with and I wish I remembered their names.

  • Mushroom duo -> wonderful costumes, we as gnomes felt happy and at home

  • Asian Longhorn Beetle and Spotted Lanternfly

  • Eve and Wall-e

  • Moth and Lamp -> He won the race soo good I'm so impressed. They're cute together.

Worst costume was the banana with a skull for some reason. He seemed happy though.

Connecting with my jungian shadow

Devastating cup of milk, may never recover.

Tonight I had rice and barbeque beans and fried up shredded potato and plantains. Last night, we made dumplings from veggies I needed to use up and the chestnuts that Jon and I collected from Heiberg forest. (see fig. 2.1,2.2)

I'm really enjoying covers of songs that people have posted from their bedrooms.

I do want to talk about Anything. Adrianne Lenker is a genius and keeps hurting me. I'm not sure what the fuck the human condition is but I think she's got some grasp on it. I particularly like these two covers of her song (the original is still a masterpiece). There is something so real and human about them and I believe this is the way the song was meant to be experienced. Being a person is so so messy. Closeness and presence and humanity is so sacred. If you're lonely, reader, I love you.

At the start of the steve fisher cover, the person filming asks:

"is it ok if i'm close?"

Yes, always.

This guy is playing lots of cavetown...

Isomers

There were gnomes in my home tonight. Prepare for good things in the weeks to come. (See fig. 1.1 below).

Interesting wikipedia article for the day: Megaherb - Large leafy growth form of plants found on islands near antarctica. (see fig. 1.2 below).

This morning, Jon and I clip-boarded for volunteers for the EFWA. It was an enlightening experience honestly, to see people steel themselves to pass by while ignoring you, and act like they can't hear anything. I've been on the other side of that interaction so many times. I don't really know what to take from it. I think people should engage with the EFWA because it seems like its doing some good and addressing issues I think everyone should care about but it's also understandably not enjoyable to be approached by strangers who represent an organization with an ideology trying to get something.

Later in the car, I listened to MUSIC FOR A FOUND HARMONIUM. Wow. I was overwhelmed with so much happiness! I felt like laughing and dancing! The moment ignited more joy than I have experienced for a hundred more deserving reasons in recent memory. Feelings possibly owing to my being with friends who I really love so much, and partly to having just had a cup of coffee at 7:00 PM. It is a banger of a song.

Currently I am trying to make my schedule for the spring, and need to trim down my 19 credit desired schedule to 16 or so.

- Freshwater Wetland Ecology

- Plant Evolution, Diversification, and Conservation (with molly i hope?)

- Agroforestry

- Plant Propagation

- Principles of Genetics + Lab (required)

- Diversity of Life II (required)

Probably between Freshwater Wetland Ecology and Agroforestry. One must go. BOOO to Principles of Genetics and its ridiculous 3:30 lecture! That's when all the labs I want to take are! I cannot take plant physiology or regenerative soil management or forest soil analysis this semester -> drowning in tears.

I also played SPECIAL DAILY CURVED THERMOMETERS and beat it with 5 minutes left. (see fig. 1.3 below). Molly helped me. I needed this, special daily curved thermometers is very tricky.

For someone named Math they are not very good at it. (sorry they are nice but i must) Also, microbiology notes here.

Thinking about how I need to get a job. Draining thought.

Molly is suuchhh a creep

Gnome aspirations

I have put the creatures in a little marsh at the top. Some may link to things. Not planning on organizing everything too much though. I love procrastinating with Cam!

. * +. DANCE.+*.

I had such a great time last night! Shaye is 20! This is fantastic for her, and I hope she's entering into a wonderful new era of her life of moderated substance use and mature men. We did the boot scoot boogie at SHREDFIELD, sadly without Emily. Shoutout to Sam for being an actual cowboy and putting me to shame with his moves, and to Julianna for joining in with us!!

I don't want to do work right now. But we must :(

Molly needs to come back from her moss investigations and gnome costume making must commence.

There is only one text feed on this website. All updates here.

Saw Jon and Jason again today! We helped throw a Halloween party for the Eastern Farm Workers Association. I had a pretty great time - but I wish I knew French! In a little bit, I'm going to go hang out with Shaye, because IT'S HER BIRTHDAY. Time to dance I think. Also, need a spooky theme.

I got a william problems, but a witch ain't one. Hello everybody, this is my first post on my website! I'm hanging out with my besties Jon and Sam and Jason right now and we're watching the Legend of Sleepy Hollow but the volume is off and jazz is playing. Pretty great!
