A 2D game sharing everyday queer, disabled, and neurodivergent experiences
The Things Left Behind is an in-development 2D video game that
shares intimate, everyday stories shaped by queer, disabled, and neurodivergent experiences
Built in Unity through collaboration with queer and disabled artists, designers, programmers, musicians, and writers, the game is a collection of slice-of-life moments created to honor ways of living often overlooked, simplified, or erased.

Each level of The Things Left Behind is its own slice of life. Gameplay, art style, sound, and narrative change from level to level, reflecting the diversity of the people and experiences that shape the game. These differences are intentional, making space for multiple ways of being, feeling, and moving through the world.
Read about the game’s design, structure, and the slice-of-life stories that shape each level.
