Miss Lynne

Lynne Brinkley’s dance training began in Haddon Heights, New Jersey, where she studied ballet and tap. When Bowman School of Dance moved to Cherry Hill, New Jersey, in 1964, Lynne transferred to the Crystal School of Dance where she continued to study tap, ballet and completed one year on pointe. After five years of dance training, Lynne specialized in tap dancing. (Beginning in 1965, Lynne danced in many benefits and fundraisers throughout the New Jersey area. She also danced in U.S.O. shows at Fort Dix, McGuire Air Force Base and Philadelphia’s Veterans Hospital.) In 1969 Lynne continued her tap training at Anita School of Dance under the supervision of Anita Jimenez. In 1974, upon graduation from high school and entry into nursing education, Lynne discontinued formal dance training. In July of 1995, Lynne participated in a private internship with Anita Jimenez of the Anita School of Dance in preparation for the opening of The Tap Academy. Lynne was tested and certified by Dance Educators of America in March of 1998.
