Haji Mohammad Alam Channa - 7'8" (233.68 cm)



Alam Channa (born 1953, Sehwan, Sindh province, Pakistan, died July 2, 1998, New York) was the world's tallest living man at 234 cm (7 ft 8 in) high. During his life he had been billed at various heights of up to 8 ft 6 in.

Channa's abnormal growth was noticed by his family when he ten years old, and continued until he was 26. Channa worked at the shrine of Shahbaz Qalander at Sehwan.

Channa died of kidney failure in a New York hospital and his body was laid to rest in his ancestral town of Dadu, Pakistan. He was survived by his wife Naseem, whom he married in 1989, and had a son.
