Course Description
In this woodworking course, students will build a personalized wooden box, complete with a hinge and a spot for a lock. To keep the focus on hands-on learning, all blueprints are provided and most major milling and cutting are pre-prepared—students will still see demonstrations, but their main work centers on assembly, tool usage, and finishing. Campers will learn how to use common woodworking tools, join pieces securely, and apply different finishes such as waxes and stains, exploring the look, feel, and durability each option provides. With room for decorative details and creative add-ons, every student leaves with a unique, fully finished box to take home.
Materials Fee
There is a materials fee of $35 to cover the cost of the wood and hardware for their project. Students will be able to take home the item that they made!
