Angela Pippos is a journalist, presenter, producer, documentary-maker, author and one half of Her Films.
Her Films was established in 2017 to create powerful documentaries about women. Throughout history the stories of women have largely been invisible - sidelined, ignored or forgotten. With its focus on storytelling, creativity and equality, Her Films’ objective is to entertain, inspire and bring about social change.
Angela has written, directed and produced two television documentaries about the rise of women in Australian Rules football: League of Her Own, which aired on the Seven Network in February 2017, and Heroes, which screened on the ABC in August 2017.
Her third documentary about gender equality in Australia is in development.
In February last year Angela released her second book, Breaking The Mould – Taking A Hammer To Sexism In Sport (Affirm Press). It provides a fascinating insight into the changing Australian sporting landscape and it made the Prime Minister’s Summer Reading List as nominated by The Grattan Institute.
Angela presented the sports segment on ABC TV News in Victoria for almost a decade.
Angela returned to the ABC this year as co-host of Saturday Grandstand on ABC Radio alongside popular comedian, Anthony “|Lehmo” Lehmann.
Her new podcast is called @WhiteLineDiva.
Angela has an Honours degree in Politics from the University of Adelaide.
