Pyro was chasing Duane around halls of the inner dinner, with his imposing stature frightening the poor dancing prodigy. Meanwhile, Ibuki and Skeletor were waiting in the interview room for them.
Where are those fools? You gave them the interview notice, right?
Yeah, I did!
Cut to 5 minutes ago.
Duane was walking towards the interview room and noticed Pyro along his way.
Yo, what’s up Pyro dude?! Ready for, like, the interview and the match?
Pyro turns suddenly, activating Duane’s fight-or-flight response.
Hudda Hmmph! (Hello, friend!)
Yeah, heh-heh. I’ll, uh, m-meet you on the dancefloor, dude…
Pyro started to run directly at Duane.
WELL THEN, GOTTA GO, CATCH YA LATER!
Duane skated away as fast as he could on his diner skates, and thus the chase began.
Cut back to the present, with Ibuki and Skeletor in the interview room.
Don’t worry! Ibuki’s got this under control! I’ll go look for them.
Whatever, just get those buffoons in here.
Alright! It’s time for an adve-
As soon as Ibuki stepped out the door, Duane zoomed past her, with Pyro close behind.
Oh, are we racing?! I’ll lap your asses, easy! Let’s go!
Ibuki, confused about the situation, got caught up in the chase. However, she quickly found falling behind, and eventually lost.
Heh-heh, where am I?
Duane, who suddenly screeched to a halt, seemed to be in a pickle.
Aw fudge, it's a dead end.
Hudda hudda! (There you are!)
Hey hey hey, no need to get all physical, dude. I know we’re, like, up against each other, and that’s cool and all, but you don’t need to get all brutal he-
Pyro went in and swooped Duane into a big bear hug, much to the boy’s dismay.
Hmmph hudda hudda hmmph! Hudda hudda hmmph! (I just wanted to hug you, pal! Good luck in the match!)
Y-yeah, sure dude. Whatever you say.
After many turns, Ibuki had found the two in the dead end.
Okay, that race was a fluke- D'awww, look at you two being all buddy-buddy! C'mon guys, Ibuki’s gotta take you two back to the interview!
Hudda hmmph! (Oh, sorry about all that!)
Pyro loosens his grip on Duane, sending Duane to the ground with a thud.
Oh yeah, the interview. Totally didn’t forget about that.
Yeah, before we go back though... where exactly are we?
Cut to Skeletor, waiting rather impatiently in the interview room.
Featherbrains.
After some time, the contestants and Ibuki had finally came back to the interview room.
Woo, we're back in business!
Took you blundering fools long enough! Now, let’s get this interview over with.
Alright, alright! Settle down, ladies and gentlemen...
She strikes an extravagant pose.
It’s interview time with Ibuki Mioda!
I loathe you sometimes.
Duane and Pyro take their seats in front of the red and white checkerboard background.
Alright, first question for both of you: How do you both feel about this upcoming match, especially since you’re up first?
Well, I’m sure it won’t be too different from, like, a dance battle, so I’m not that worried, but I’m totally stoked. It’s tense, yeah, but in the end this is really just for fun. As for first impressions, I think we can make, like, a totally tubular one, to the max!
Hudda Hudda Mmmph Mmmph Hudda Hmmph! (It’s gonna be so fun! I’m really excited to play with my new friend, here! I hope the people out there are just as excited as I am!)
Good answers, guys! That was really sweet, Pyro.
You can understand him?
Of course Ibuki can, all thanks to Jen!
Sounds rad! I’ll ask her about it sometime, then.
Next question! What do you two think about the match happening alongside yours, Peacock vs. Murderous Goose?
Hmmmph Mmmph Hmmmmph Hudda Hudda! (I’m sure they’ll both have a fun time playing with each other! That stretchy lady, Peacock, is really nice, and that goose is a little scary, but I’m sure it means well! I’m not really rooting for one or the other.)
Peacock’s chill, so I’m rooting for her personally. That Goose needs to take a chill pill, like what’s it’s damage? It keeps trying to stab people and mess stuff up.
It’s called murderous for a reason. Anyways, you two are pretty “old,” considering you’re from the late 60s and late 80s. What’s up with that?
Hudda Hudda Hudda Mmmph Hudda. (I never really thought about that, because it never really impacted me. It’s nice to meet so many friendly new people from different times though, like that robot girl! She’s a lot more different than what I’m used to!)
It’s pretty rad to see all this futuristic stuff from everybody. The future’s looking lit, and I’m excited! Also pretty gnarly to hear that we’re like geezers to some people here, but clearly I couldn’t even tell Pyro was that old!
Hudda Hudda. (Sorry about all that chasing, but I’m pretty used to running around with friends. At least we’re not as old as that wizard!).
Yeah, at least you two aren’t the oldest around! Now, Duane, considering how FLAMING your opponent tends to make things, how worried are you about the match?
Y'know, I used to be worried that stuff was about to get grody, but Pyro’s chill. I don’t think he means to hurt anybody.
Hudda Hmmmph! (I just want to make friends!)
Fair point Duane. You know, I’m pretty experienced in lighting things up myself. CHECK IT OU-
No no, Ibuki. You’re not allowed to do Death Metal Barbeque again.
Awww, man! You’re no fun. Anyways, last question for Pyro: Your opponent, Duane, is known for his immense dancing prowess.
What can I say? Dancing’s, like, fun to do.
It sure is! Anyways, Pyro: do you have any ways to counter Duane’s smooth moves?
The Pyro sits upright and seems to light up.
Hmmph! (I know!)
The Pyro pulls a pair of ice skates out of nowhere and hops on them. He skates around the room, doing a few tricks, then axel jumps out of the skates and starts doing the Kazotsky Kick on the floor as soon as he lands.
What the-
Yoooooo, look at him go! Holy shit!!!
Damn, dude! You got the moves yourself, home skillet!
Duane, now in the dancing fever, drops down and does the Kazotsky Kick with Pyro.
Hahaha! This dance is rad! Can’t wait to see you on the dancefloor, dude.
Woooooo, dance party!
Ibuki also joins in on the Kazotsky Kick-ing.
Ugh, I despise you blundering buffoons. Well, I suppose that’s the end of this tiring interview. I hope you’re all excited for the match, though I’m not quite sure if I am. Ta-ta!
