We are a congregation affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in America, which was founded in America in 1973 to stand faithful to the Scriptures and to the Reformed faith. We, along with our denomination, trace our theological roots to the founding of the Presbyterian churches in Scotland and the Puritan churches in England following the Protestant Reformation of Martin Luther, John Calvin, John Knox, and others. These roots go even further back to the Nicene and Apostle’s Creeds and to the New Testament itself. The contours of our theology are best summarized in the Westminster Standards (the Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechisms), which are our confessional standards. Similar statements include the Belgic Confession (1561) and the Heidelberg Catechism (1563).
We stand together with other churches in our denomination for accountability, a system of representational government, and for partnership in gospel ministry. While no denomination is not without weaknesses or flaws, the PCA emphasizes that God is a God of grace, that salvation through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone, that the Scriptures are authoritative, and that the mission of the church is to proclaim the message of God’s grace to all the world. Thus our partnership with the PCA helps us fulfill our mission of making mature disciples of Christ who will proclaim the message of redemption in Christ, in word and deed, and will see an ever increasing number of lives transformed by the gospel of God’s grace, for the glory of God and the preeminence of Christ in all things.
