The Raíces Recruitment and Retention Center is one of the seven Recruitment and Retention Centers within the bridges Multicultural Resource Center.

We operate on the UC Berkeley campus and conduct outreach programs throughout California: serving primarily the Latine community, first-generation, low-income, and students of color on and off campus.

Our Mission

UC Berkeley Latine students established the Raíces Recruitment and Retention Center to increase the number of Latinx students in Universities by providing academic and social support networks to encourage achievement as a community.

Since its establishment in 1970, in conjunction with the efforts and dedication of our interns and volunteers, the Raíces Center continues its mission to proactively increase the status of our community professionally, socially, and politically, both on and off campus.

We aim to increase enrollment of Latine high school and transfer students to institutions of higher education while making resources accessible and available throughout the academic year to improve the retention rate of Latine students here at Berkeley.
