As Todd Bittner, former head of security at DJDS retires, a new head of security rises to take his position.
David Grenoble, also known as Dave, is now taking over for Bittner. Even though Bittner planned to stay for just one year he ended up staying for eight full years. “I stayed because of the way you made me feel. You made me feel appreciated, cared about, and supported,” Bittner said in an open letter to DJDS.
Dave Grenoble was born and raised in Colorado and grew up in a Christian household. Although Grenoble is not Jewish he very much values our DJDS community. “I love being here and it's honestly been an honor to be here and protect you guys,” Grenoble said. “It's one of the most welcoming places I've ever been in my life.”
Grenoble is the owner and founder of 2A Security, which was started around two and a half years ago and is certified by the Department of Homeland Security.
Despite Grenoble working for other security companies in the past he got tired of working for other companies that were cutting corners. From there he decided to start his own company and “do it right”.
While many students miss Bittner, they have a strong sense of confidence in Dave. “I think he’s a guy that just cares about his job and does it really well,” said Joey Tesler, a DJDS freshman.
While Grenoble does the daily and weekly duties of a head of security, most of his time is spent guarding the entrance of the school. “I watch all the perimeter and fenceline and make sure all the trouble stays away from the school,” Grenoble said.
“I’ve always kind of protected people, It’s kind of what I’ve always done,” Grenoble said.
