• Homebuyer Assistance Program

  • Provides the funds to help with the down payment & closing costs of purchasing a home

  • Homebuyer Counseling required

• Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program

  • Loans available for low to moderate income households for repair & rehabilitation of health & safety concerns on the property.:

  • Applicable to electrical, plumbing, heating, roofing, painting, window & door repairs

  • Up to $7,000 at 2.5% interest

• Housing Rehabilitation Forgivable Loan Program 

  • Forgivable loans available to low-income households for the same purposes as above 

• Emergency Repairs

  • Up to $5,000 available for low-income households in need of immediate safety repairs 

• Public Service Program

  • Funding for Non-Profits

  • Applies to programs such as: 

• Employment Training

• Handicapped & Senior services

• Screening for Lead Poisoning

• Housing Counseling

• Education Programs

• Homeless Services

• Food Bank

• Childcare Services

• Substance Abuse Services

• Services for Abuse & Neglected Children

• Services for Battered & Abused Spouses

• Housing Resource Center

  • Continuum of Care system for the Homeless

• Eviction Counseling

• Emergency Shelter Referrals

• Community Services Block Grant

  • Services:

    • Rent & Mortgage Assistance: 

    • Must be at least 30 days in arrears 

    • No more than 2 months in arrearage

    • Dental & Prescription assistance

    • Hot Water Repair & Replacement

    • Scholarships 

    • Food

  • Eligibility

    • Current Illinois Driver’s License or State ID

    • SSC for all household members

    • 30 Day Income of all household members

    • Proof of residency: Current Lease & Occupancy Permit, Warranty Deed or Mortgage Statement 

    • Proof of Hardship
